"Colin!" I screamed out his name as he fell over the side of the school building. I looked over the edge and he was hanging on the side of the brick building with both hands. We were on top of the roof of a two story school building. It was windy outside and a guy I hardly know is about to fall to his death.
"H-help me, Pet!" he said alarmed. I put my hands around his arms and tried to pull him back up, but his weight was much greater than mine and I couldn't budge him up even an inch.
"I can't!" I yelled at him, "You're too heavy!" I squeezed tighter. He let go one of his hand to grab on to my left arm, so that I wouldn't let him go. By doing this, it made things even worst for me. I felt like I was about to be pulled down by him. I was having a hard enough time trying to balance my weight with his, but now he's just putting all his weight on his side. "Let go!" I ordered him. "I'm going to fall too if you don't let go!"
"If I let you go then I'm going to die!" he said, refusing to release my arm.
"It's better than both of us dying!" I protested.
He gave me an upset look and put his other hand on my left arm as well. "Then, if I'm going to die like this, I'm taking you with me!" He had all weight on my left arm. I felt that my arm was about to be ripped off!
"No!" I shouted. I tried my best to even out the uneven pounds on each side. It was no used. I slowly started to lean over the edge more and more. Then a strong wind pushed me the rest of the way over the corner. "Ahhh!" Soon, I found that I was the one hanging off the school's edge. Colin had just slipped off my hand and was the one hanging from my dangling legs. "Help, someone!" I cried. My free arm grabbed the building and I started yelling at Colin. "Why are you so crazy?!"
Colin looked up at me with a silent stare and answered, "Because I want you. I'll do anything to have you!"
I rolled my eyes and tried pulling us back up. Together, we were too heavy. All I can do now was hold on to the edge, and wait for someone to come. We were being swayed by the wind. My arms were getting pale as all the blood was draining out of them and making them feel numb. As I was starting lose my grip. My arms were scraping roughly against the bricks and blood trickling down my arms.
"-et! Pet!" I thought I heard.
"Colin! Did you hear that?" I shouted.
"What?" he looked up.
"I think someone's coming!" I said excited. "Over here, help!"
"Pet!" the voice said louder. "Pet, where are you?!" it sounded a lot closer.
"We're on the roof!" I said at the top of my lungs. The door was swung open and I heard two pairs of footsteps racing their way over to where Colin and I were. My fingers were at their limit, I couldn't hold on any longer. As my hands ran out of energy and parted with the building, two pairs of hands grabbed on to my arms.
Mr. Alvin was holding my left arm and Mr. Min with holding the other. "Ha! We got here just in time." Mr. Alvin said smiling.
"Colin?!" Mr. Min said surprised. "What are you doing there?!"
Colin looked away and said, "I fell. What does it look like?"
"But, you're suppose to be suspended and-" he said.
"Um, guys? How about you guys talk when we're not hanging for our lives off the roof of a school? Sound like a good idea?" I said very impatiently.
"That sounds good to me." Mr. Alvin said. "Pet, you're coming with me. We got to talk about something too."
Colin looked up at Mr. Alvin, "What do you mean by that?" he tightened his grip on my legs. "You're going to do something bad to him aren't you?!"
"What are you-" he started.
"No! I'm not going to let him go!" Colin interrupted.
"Don't be stupid! He's not going to do anything to me." I said glancing back down at him.
"Shut up! Shut up! You don't know him at all! He's going to take you away from me," Colin shifted his eyes over to Mr. Min, "and so is he! I'm not going to let any of you take him!"
"Hey!" I shouted. "Clam down! I don't feel like dying today! So, talk about this later!"
"No!" he replied stubbornly. Then, without warning, he started kicking at the wall, trying to pull me down.
"Wah! No! Stop that!" I screamed. Both teachers were losing their grip on my arms. I feared for my life again and said, "Don't do that! I want to live and see tomorrow!" My hands were holding on to the teachers' as I was sliding down slowly.
Mr. Min said to Mr. Alvin, "You hold on to Pet and I'll try to get Colin." They nodded and Mr. Alvin held on to both my arms. Mr. Min extended his hand out to Colin and pleaded to him, "Colin, grab a hold of my hand! I'll pull you up!"
"Hell no! You bastards just want to get rid of me!" he said. Colin slapped his hand away and started kicking the brick wall even hard this time. He swung side to side with his body weight. Mr. Alvin was having a hard time holding on to me.
Suddenly, a huge gust of wind blew onto us like a hurricane. Colin lost his grip on my legs and fell again, taking one of my shoes with him. I freed one of my arms from Mr. Alvin and tried to grab him before it was too late. I was only able to tap the edge of his middle finger, but I couldn't save him. I was too late. He didn't make a sound while falling.
"Ah-! Colin!!!" I exclaimed. We met eye to eye as gravity pulled him downward. His leg smashed into the second story window that was wide open and shattered it to pieces. Which caused him to spin out of control.
Thump!!! He rammed into the concrete at full force. A few heads popped out of the windows below me to see what had happen. Mr. Alvin pulled me back up and Mr. Min was just there shocked and frozen in place. As soon as I was able to stand on my two feet, I ran as fast as my legs could take me. I flew down all the stairs like they weren't even there. All I could think of is, Colin! Colin! Where is he? Is he still alive?! I have to find him! I busted the front door open and search for a body. A few students stood in place and stared in one direction. I rushed over to where they were looking and stopped about eight feet before I got where I needed to be.
Colin's chest was still pumping slowly and his eyes were half open. His leg was covered in blood and his arm was bent in an impossible way. I came up to him slowly and fell to my knees. I slid my hand under his head and he turn to look at me with his half opened eyes. "H... hi, there..." he whispered so softly.
"He-hello..." I muttered, holding back my tears. "You're... not planning to go anywhere, are you?"
"Heaven... maybe." he said trying to put a smile on his face.
My eyes were filled up with tear and they just started falling down onto his face. "No... no, you can't go to heaven yet. Who's going to save me if I'm going get run over by a car?"
"I... don't know..." he said as his eyes started closing.
"Please, don't leave me." I closed my eyes so that I didn't see a dying person right in front of me. "Don't go!" I felt a hand push down on my head. Our mouths stopped exchanging word, now they were touched by the other's wordless lips. My eye opened to the movement, but I didn't move away.
As soon as our lips departed, I heard the siren of an ambulance. They came and took him away. Someone must have called for them. I watched as they took off to the hospital. Both Mr. Alvin and Mr. Min came out the door and looked for me. When they found me, I was looking at the crack in the concert filled with Colin's blood. "They took him away." I said before any of them can speak. I looked up at them with tears pouring out of my eyes. "His not going to die, is he?" I asked letting my crying go all out.
Mr. Min knelt down beside me and put his arm around my motionless body. "It's okay. We can only hope for the best. Just believe in my brother."
I stiffen and asked, "Brother?"I was still in shock after I saw Colin fall from the roof of the school and rushed to the hospital. Mr. Min was there to me comfort me. I looked up at him and asked with confusion, "You're... Colin's brother?"

He looked down and nodded, "Yes, he is." He took my arms and pulled me up, "You're bleeding. You should go to the infirmary."
"But, what about Colin? He's in the hospital because of me. I didn't want to do anything to hurt him. It's all my fault." I said looking down. Tears were still running down my face and I couldn't stop them.
Mr. Alvin walked up to me and said, "It's not your fault, so don't blame yourself." He looked down at the trail of Colin's blood on my shoe and the ground then turned away. "I know you're worried about Colin, but think about yourself first."
I glared at him and said with a frustrated look on my face, "That's what I've been doing the whole time. I only thought of myself and no one else. It's like I don't care about anyone. Now you're telling me that I should care for myself? If I had told Colin how I felt about him in the first place this might not have happened!"
They both looked down on me with a questionable look. "That may be true," stated Mr. Alvin, "But, what if this happened anyways? Would you have made another excuse? Is that really all you're good for?" He put his hand on my shoulder.
"No." I whispered. I didn't dare to look up at him, but he lifted my chin up with his hand and asked me again.
"Is that all you're really good for?"
"I-I don't know." I said, about to cry again. "Maybe that's all I can really do."
Mr. Min pushed his hand off my shoulders and said with a worried face, "That's enough. Don't you think he had enough for one day?" He turned to me and said, "Come on, Pet. Let's go to the infirmary." Then put his hand to my back and pushed me to go. I went along with him; I couldn't just stay there all day.

I spent most of the week in my room. I couldn't go to class because my arms were bandaged. From time to time of variety of students would leave threat notes under doorway. I didn't care about them and put them aside without showing them to any teachers. I did feel like going to classes anyways. The rumors had spread around quickly about me and Colin. Now everyone hates me for it.
Just about everyday after class or after school Mr. Alvin or Mr. Min would bring the day's notes and class work to me in my dorm room.On the day I was able to take my bandages off, Mr. Min said, "I have good news. The hospital said that Colin was in stable condition." It looked like he had half a smile on his face. Part of him was relieved that his brother was okay, but the other part didn't want him to come back. "I think I'll go visit him tomorrow."
I was surprised and excited that same time. It made me happy to know that he was alright. "Oh! Can I come with you tomorrow?"
"Um..." he paused for a long while, thinking if it was right to bring me or not. "I'm sorry, Pet. I can't take you off campus. It's against the rules." he said as if he didn't want me to come along. "Plus, you haven't gotten out of this room in a week."
"But," I said trying to protest, "I'll be fine, I promise. I only want to see him for just a little bit... Please."
He stood up and walked to the door then stopped and said, "I'm sorry, I can't." He walked out closing the door behind him.
I couldn't believe he'd refuse to take me along. I was there thinking of a way to get to Colin. After about 15 minutes of thinking, planning, and plotting, I only had one answer in my mind at the time and I didn't like it very much. I have to cross-dress!
