Dark Days

Memories hardly last,

When you want them to be remembered

Yet those that want to be forgotten

Haunt you, stalking you, a shadow that never leaves

Its like you’re reliving all the terror

You’re not moving on from the past

You’re living in the dreadful memory

Longing to move on

But it is impossible,

Because everything around you

Just reminisces the moment

The moment of horror

Of screaming, and death

The moment of bloodshed

The screams ringing in your ears

A high pitched noise enters your mind

As you try to prevent the moment

You try to run away from the past

But it follows you, wherever you go

People remind you of this dreadful, dark day

They remind you of the deaths of innocent people

You try and run, running as fast as your lungs will take you

But all in vain, because you cannot outrun the past

You cannot outrun time

But you can live in the moment

Memories may haunt you,

Memories may fade away, and diminish

But memories that are worth remembering

Will stay forever
