𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 // 𝐊. 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐠𝐨

1 • Pancakes

   "Bye Izu!! Have a great last day at school!" You call to your older brother, waving goodbye from the front door. Said brother, Izuku Midoriya, is a first year student at UA high, a school for heroes in training. Today is the last day before summer break for him, your school ended two days prior. This summer, you plan on applying to UA, just like Izuku! You study hard, work hard, and do your best in every way you can, all in hopes to be more like him.
   Deciding today would be a good day to get some things done, you went to your room and pulled out your paints and paint brushes. "What to do, what to do..." you murmur to yourself, trying to find some inspiration while scrolling through Instagram. You come across a picture that Izuku posted about three minutes ago. It was a picture of him and Katsuki, his best friend, on their way to school. Izuku was smiling brightly at the camera while Katsuki was looking away, obviously not wanting to be in the picture in the first place. The caption read, "last day of school! Can't wait for summer break!!!😁🌼" you smiled and pulled out yellow, brown, orange, and some other paints and started to paint a big, beautiful sunflower.
   After a while of painting, you decided to let that layer dry and went downstairs to grab some lunch. Grabbing some bread, you decided to make yourself a sandwich. Just then you heard the front door open and walked toward the living room to see who was there.
   "Oh! Izu I didn't know today was an early release day?"
   "Actually I didn't either, but Mr. Aizawa surprised us and let us all go home early!" He bubbled. Then you noticed the figure next to him and made eye contact with Katsuki. "Oh hey Katsu. It's been a while," you smile. "Hi," he says simply, averting his attention back to something on his phone. Welp, not like you expected a better greeting anyway. "Katsuki is gonna sleep over tonight, sorry for not telling you earlier," Izuku rubs the back of his neck.
   "Oh okay. Mom is gonna be home late tonight so she asked me to take care of dinner. Do you guys have anything in mind?" You ask. Katsuki and Izuku look at each other and then back at you, both shaking their heads 'no'. You shrug and head back upstairs after finishing your sandwich.

   The next morning you woke up early to the sound of birds chirping outside your window, a few small rays of sunshine peeking in past the tree  in front of it. You do some stretches to try to wake up a bit before deciding to go to the bathroom to wash your face. You open your bedroom door and see a note on the ground. You pick it up and see that it's from mom. It explains that she left for breakfast with Mitsuki, Katsuki's mother. You sigh when you get to the bathroom, seeing that the door is closed and the lights are on inside, implying somebody is in there. You wait outside the door, and when it opens you expect to see Izuku but instead see a half asleep Katsuki Bakugo standing there, not even noticing your tiny figure. He walks straight into you, knocking both of you down onto the hardwood floor, his body hovering over yours. His eyes were wide open and he gets up and offers his hand to help you off the ground. You take it and he pulls you up effortlessly.
   "Sorry," Katsuki signs to you. You realized he didn't have his hearing aids in.
   "No worries. Is Izuku awake? I will make  breakfast." You sign, smiling at the still half asleep blonde.
   "I think so. I will go check," he walks to Izuku's bedroom, coming back with his hearing aids in. "He's up," He says.
   "Okay then, I'll go make some pancakes. Sound good?"
   "Do you have chocolate chips?"
   "Did you really think I was gonna make pancakes without chocolate chips?? I thought we were closer than this Katsu, I gotta say I'm a little disappointed." You sigh jokingly. He chuckles and you smile, proud of yourself for being able to make him laugh. Now that I think about it, he's kinda cute when he laughs.. wait. Whaaaaat am I saying?!
   You head downstairs to turn on the stove, setting a semi large pan on it. You grab eggs, milk, and the pancake mix and start to whisk them all together in a bowl. You grab the chocolate chips from the cabinet and leave the bag open so it would be easy to reach in and sprinkle them onto the pancakes.
   With a ladle, you scoop up some pancake batter and pour it onto the now hot pan, and grab a couple of chocolate chips and evenly proportioning them throughout the pancake. After a little you flip the pancake, seeing the slightly burnt other side.
   "Damn it! I was so careful too!" You groan. Just then, Katsuki and Izuku walk down and their mouths water at the smell of the chocolate chip pancakes. You ask Izuku to get a plate so you could put the pancakes on and then after a short amount of time, all the pancakes were done and thankfully only the first one turned out a little weird. You smile at your success and hand the plate over to the two teenage boys who start devouring them. You pour yourself a glass of milk and manage to snatch a pancake before they were all gone.

   "So N/n, you're going to apply to UA right?" The ash blonde asks from the other side of the couch.
   "Yeah, why?" You turn to him curiously. "Just wondering. I know you already know most of our class and everything so I figured you might want to be near some familiar faces."
   "Yeah, but I've also kinda wanted to go my whole life. It's such a great school, who wouldn't want to go there?" You smile widely at him. He shrugs and looks away, and you see that the tips of his ears are a light pink. You think nothing of it and avert your attention back to the television which was playing The Office. Izuku sat between the two of you, playing with a strand of his curly green hair before jumping up and smiling at you and Katsuki.
   "Hey I know! Let's go to the amusement park! I'll even invite a couple of our classmates and N/n can get to know everyone a little better!" The green eyed boy beamed. You knew you couldn't say no to that smile so you said, "sure, why not?"
