An elven girl was walking in the woods, her white hair tied back in a ponytail. Her hands were in her black jackets' pockets. Her boots crunched in the snow as she walked past beautiful evergreen trees, their branches covered in snow. She listened to the birds singing their song. She smiled as she walked into a clearing surrounded by tents. Her pointed ears twitched happily as she saw her parents. They were helping start a fire. They were in their Sun Dragon form. They looked up as they heard footsteps approaching. Their orange scales seemed to ripple in the dying sunlight.

"Hello, Crystal. Did you have a nice walk," Crystal's mother asked.

"Yes. I gathered some berries," Crystal said as she held up both hands. Her hands were full of Sunberries. They were very yellow and had a fruity smell to them.

"Good. Put them on this mat," Crystal's father said, gesturing to a red mat lying beside him. Crystal walked over and placed the berries on the mat. They glowed as the Sun set.

Crystal blew out a breath and went to her tent. A slow cold had worked its way up her body. She glowed with a faint white light as she transformed into a very dark blue dragon with white markings. She stood in her tent and stared at the floor, breathing rapidly. Her breath slowed as she stepped out of the tent. She looked around in the dark and saw the other Elves walking around. All of them had yellow markings on their body and they had white hair. Most acknowledged Crystal with a nod of their head, two elves ignored her for being different (which was normal for them). Crystal heard a twig snap and thought it was just an animal. Little did she know that that was not an animal, but something more dangerous.

"Keep quiet," General Carl whispered loudly. Souh rolled his eyes.

You're not being very quiet, General, he yearned to say, but he knew this mission was too important.

General Carl, Souh, and two other soldiers were looking for SunShine elves, elves with the not-really-rare ability to transform into a powerful dragon by day, less powerful dragon by night. Their armor clanged quietly as they traveled along the forest floor, occasionally looking into the treetops. The armor had red and gold streaks running along it. All of the lines led to a crest of a lion's head. They started at the snap of a twig, but it was one of the other soldiers. When the group paused, they heard voices and saw a warm light coming from up ahead. General Carl looked back at the other three soldiers. He raised his finger to his lips to signal them to be quieter. They quickly but quietly walked to a group of bushes and peeked through the holes. They saw the camp. The camp was alive with action. Elves were moving quickly and with a purpose. One Elf carried a log and dumped it onto the fire, causing it to flare up; one was chasing its child around the camp. One was in its dragon form, but it didn't look right. It was a dark blue instead of golden. Souh tilted his head and rubbed his eyes. He might've just imagined that. But why would an Elf choose to stay in their dragon form past sunset? He had no idea. Souh turned to the General, but Carl was staring at the dragon with a look of mass confusion on his face. He noticed Souh staring at him.

"What," he asked, leaning in.

"Why is that Elf in its dragon form? And why is it blue," Souh whispered into Carl's ear.

"I don't know but I think we've gathered enough intel to report to the King. Let's go."

Souh felt as though he was being watched as he got up and followed his leader back the way they came.

Crystal watched the soldiers as they walked away. She could feel two of them staring at her.
