When, the two of them were readying for bed, Nico realized he only had three days left before he would  go back to Mount Olympus. He tried to push away the thought. He was going to see if she wanted to... maybe.... hopefully... fall asleep in his arms again to night. But, Calypso had walked to the other side of the cave and mumbled her good night to him.

"Good night Calypso." he whispered.

After about ten minutes, Nico was just drifting off to sleep when he couldhave sworn he heard someone crying softly. He hopped out of bed right away and walked quickly over to Calypso.  He wrapped his arms around her and she buried her face into his neck. And he whispered his love for her until she fell asleep.

The next three days followed in the same fashion as the first. But each day, both Calypso and Nico could feel a magnetic pull between them. The second day was almost exactly like the first, but instead of gardening, the two played with the animals and hung out at the beach. On the third day, Calypso waited for Nico to finish his soup by the entrance of the cave and ran outside when he was ready to go. And that night they said their good nights, and just as they were turning, Calypso turned around abruptly.

"Nico?"

"Hmmm?"

"I....ah..." she thought for a second, " I'm cold, could you keep me warm?"

And, so Calypso was resting in his arms and he was whispering to her of his love for her, her heart quickened when she could feel his breath on her cheek. Suddenly he stopped whispering, and she froze, suddenly alert. Calypso could feel him pulling closer. Again she felt her heart quicken when she felt his breath. She inhaled the kiss he placed so gently on her cheek, it burned on her skin and made her feel hot. She tilted her head up and did something she had never done before, she gently kissed his jaw and traced it with her lips and then kissed him again on the neck. she sighed and closed her eyes and fell asleep smiling.

Today was Nico's last day. But he didn't think about it. Today was going to be the the best day with Calypso yet. This time when Calypso gave Nico his soup, she sat next to him and talked of the day's plans. They finished their gardening, and all the little birds and animals followed Calypso every where. She talked to them and sang to them. Nico watched at a distance smiling. He could not believe someone could sing like she did. It was so beautifully unreal. He closed his eyes and let her song sink into him.

Later, while the two of them where picking flowers. Nico got got stung by a bee on his hand. But, Calypso stayed calm, and with gentle fingers she pulled it out.

"I think you will survive." she winked.

It did not hurt Nico, but he said, "It hurts, think it needs a kiss to make it better."

"Ok." she said, and without looking away from his eyes, she pressed her soft lips against the palm of his hand.

Nico felt the time was right, he carressed her face, and leaned forward to kiss her, but just as he was about to, she slipped way and ran into a maze of sunflowers. He did the natural thing and gave chase.  He caught her somewhere in the middle of all the sunflowers. And Calypso started to Cry silently.

"You are going to leave soon."

"I am. But I am taking you with me."

she said,"No, I don't think I love you. And I can't get off this island."

"I love you Calypso, with my whole heart. And, I know you must feel something for me, too. I can feel it."

Her breath caught at the words I love you.

Nico continued, "What do you have to lose?"

He was right, she squeezed her eyes shut and concentrated. Were all those times when he looked at her and her heart flickered, love? Or those quiet nights when all she could hear was his confessions of his love for her? Was that love? Was that what it felt like? To be loved? She had never felt it before, and it was the best feeling in the world. Slowly, Calypso could feel her pain melt away and her heart beat with a new passion. She opened her eyes and the first thing she saw where his, deep, dark, and knowing brown eyes. He was just about to say something when she stopped him with a kiss on the lips. She could feel him smile.

Calypso and Nico waled out onto the beach and towards the sunset, hand in hand, to Hermes who was wating with a boat to escort them back home.

When they arrived at Mount Olympus, Nico whispered in Calypso's ear,

"Welcome home."

They kissed and walked inside.
