PROLOGUE.
— BEGINNING —

"Good news, your life will be longer than we've expected." the doctor smiled. The young girl's eyes automatically lit as if she found a new hope. "But the bad news is..."

Y/N shook her head slowly and grinned. "Doc, don't tell it. Please don't ruin my hope. I am already satisfied. Your news just made my body stronger."

Although the information that the doctor gave them was a good news, Y/N's parents cannot hid the fact that they are still sad for their child. Knowing that she is a time ticking bomb who can explode anytime when her time comes. That melancholic fact breaks their heart.

Y/N woke up from a nightmare. Not a dream but a nightmare. She slowly sat up to her bed and leaned back on the headboard to gain back her sanity.

'That was a nightmare. A worst dream. A figure of an 10 years old me who believes in hope.'

She held her chest and felt her heartbeat. She's wondering if they're still functioning. When Y/N felt the light thumps of her chest, it relieved her.

'And yes, I am still alive!' she silently declared to herself.

It is 2 AM in the morning. Maybe some of the people in the world may be having a good sleep, maybe some of them are just going to have a sleep or maybe some of the people had been awaken at this time. And Y/N is one of them.

Since sleepiness doesn't hit her yet, she decided to entertain her self. She got up from her bed and proceeded to her desk. Her hand quickly found the journal she has been keeping. Everyday, Y/N would write something on it, whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.

This journal proves her experiences in life. All the ups and downs she had been through. She treasures it. Because she believes that this proves that she's strong enough to surpass them.

"To my beloved... journal." she wrote.

To my beloved journal,

I woke up from a dream today. It wasn't good. It wasn't that bad either. But it made me angry. Because I still wonder, if there is a hope, then why am I starting to feel the weakening of my body?

"Honey, wake up. Breakfast is ready." I squinted my eyes when the sunlight hit my face. I raised my hand to cover my face from it. My mother opened the curtains, which made my room lighter and beamer.

"When did you learn to sleep in your desk?" she walked towards me and lightly caressed my hair.

I sighed. "I just forgot to go back to my bed, mother." I held her hands that was caressing my head. "Go on. I'll get ready myself first for today."

She smiled and nodded.

When my mother left the room. I closed my eyes as I clasped my hands.

Pray.

I prayed.

I prayed to thank Him. I prayed to ask for forgiveness. I prayed for a longer life and healthy living for my parents.

After I washed my face and combed my hair, I went out from my room. I found my father sitting on the edge of the table. With a newspaper on his hands, I knew that he was staring for it for hours.

"Honey, sit down." father told me without even glancing at me. "Call your brother, he's still inside his room." I nodded.

I turned back and stopped in front of Hoseok's room. I knocked twice without even speaking but he was not answering nor opening it.

"Uh... this is your little sister." I lowly said.

It wasn't still 2 seconds when he opened the door. I saw him, almost fell from where he is standing. As soon as he met my gaze, he smiled widely.

"Good morning, our angel!" Hoseok greeted me cheerfully. It's impossible to frown whenever you're with him. His smile is communicable that you will automatically smile when you see him.

"Good morning..."

He wrapped his arms around me and closed the door of his room. "Let's go, shall we?"

I slowly nodded.

"I guess I have to go alone..." father said between his meal. "I'm sorry, I will not be able to come to father's funeral. You know our situation, honey. We can't live our daughter alone."

I lifted my head when mom mentioned me. Hoseok furrowed his eyebrows as he carefully let go of his utensils. "But mom... I can take care of her." he suggested and glanced at me.

"Son, it is still better if there's an elder who will guide you both."

"Don't you trust me?" my brother asked my parents. "I promise, I can take care of her."

Mom sighed. "Of course, I do. But I want you to be safe, as well."

"Why don't we just ask for them to our neighbors?" dad cutted in.

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

"Bye dad! Bye mom!" Hoseok and I waved our hands as their car started to drove off away from us.

Hoseok sighed. "You hungry?"

My eyes widened. "Woah! Calm down, brother. We just ate our dinner." I chuckled.

He grinned and scratched the back of his head. "Really?"

I nodded. "Yeah. Maybe I'll go to my room first. I want to write on my journal."

"Okay, but please..." I stopped from walking and looked back at him.

"What is it brother?"

"...please don't sneak out at night. Or else, I'll die." he reminded me. I chuckled. "I won't!"

I went inside my room and laid down on my bed. I lied. I lied to my brother. I wasn't going to write something on my journal because I can't.

I closed my eyes as I clench on my chest. It is starting to hurt again. This time, I shut my eyes tightly. The pain starts to get worse. I grabbed the sheets of the bed and bit it.

Someone please help me.

Few seconds had passed and the pain started to subside. A tear fell out from my eye as I open them. The next thing I knew, I encountered a shocking scene that made me jumped out of my bed.

A man whose age looks the same as mine appeared in my sight. Those bunny eyes that pierced into my position. His lips are agape as he stared at me.

And the room was filled with shouts.
