      Before I even open my eyes I can sense something is wrong, my whole body aches, and a faint beeping that matches my heart rate fills my ears.

      Then all of a sudden it's like something snaps into place and my memories resurface; the bright headlights, dad swerving the car to avoid the oncoming truck, the screeching of tires as we barrel towards a tree by the side of the road. The screams before everything goes silent.

       I jolt up in bed, my eyes wide with panic as I find myself in a hospital bed, crying out in pain in my head at the sudden movement before blacking out.

~~~~
       I wake up to the chirping of birds, bright light piercing through my eyelids. I scrunch my eyebrows together in confusion at the lack of pain, and the hard material I'm laying on.
      Cautiously I sit up, opening my eyes, to find myself sitting in a seemingly endless field of tulips, a rainbow of colors stretching out beyond to horizon in every direction. I stand up in confusion, looking all around me, the sun beating down without a cloud in sight.
      "Great so now I've died and gone to heaven only for it to be an endless fucking field of flowers stretching on forever and no one within sight!" I yell angrily up at the sky.
      "Not exactly," a male voice says from behind me, making me whirl around in surprise. "You aren't dead Scarlett, this is just your resting place until you're ready to return." I'm momentarily stunned, eyes locked on his muscular, shirtless torso before finally making their way up to him captivating red eyes, thick black eyeliner giving his eyes a more dramatic flare, his lips settled into a smirk.
      "Who are you? How do you know my name?" I ask, blushing as he brushes his stark black hair out of his eyes.
      "I'm a son of God, I know everyone's name," he says, smiling at me. I study him, my eyes wracking along his body; from his gorgeous eyes, his eyebrow and nose piercing, black guages in his ears, down to his chiseled abs, his black jeans held up by a thick leather belt, and farther down to his black leather boots. I can't help but be confused, looking up and locking eyes with him.
       "I wouldn't take you for a religious type."
       "What, just because I dress like this and am muscular you think I'm not religious?" he questions with an amused expression. "I have my prefered forms, this one just happens to be the one I feel the most comfortable in. And like you are one to judge with your appearance."
      I look down at myself surprised to find that I'm wearing my favorite outfit, right down to my black leather jacket, black skinny jeans and leather boots. I can't help but smile, looking up at him again, "Yeah, but I rock it better," I challenge smirking up at him.
       He growls, moving towards me until we're face to face, or as close to being face to face that we could be seeing as he's about a foot taller than me.
~~~~

      I growl, moving forward so I'm looking down into her piercing blue eyes. Hell she was beautiful, there was no denying that, and her outward confidence was astonishing. "Your blush says otherwise darling," I whisper huskily, studying her slightly pink face, smirking as she turns an even brighter shade of red.

       She reaches out and touches my cheek lightly, and I sigh, closing my eyes contently. "Scarlett, what are you doing?"

     I feel her pull away and I open my eyes to reveal tears streaming down her face. "Why am I here?" she asks her lip trembling slightly, no sign of the playfulness that had been between us.

     I sigh unhappily before turning around, closing my eyes tightly, and breathing in deep, trying to focus myself. "You were in a car crash with your family, you aren't seriously injured, mostly cuts and bruises, and a slight concussion. You're here because you still need some time to heal and come to terms with what happened before going back."

        "What about my family, are they okay?" she questions, her voice wavering ever so slightly. I cringe, opening my eyes and turning back to her.

      "They didn't make it..."

~~~~~
       "They didn't make it..." he said sadness in his eyes. I sink to my knees, tears streaming down my face as those four words sink in. I sob out in pain, sinking to my knees in the dirt between the rows of tulips.
        I feel him kneel down in front of me and look up. He takes my right wrist in his hand and turns it over so my palm is facing upwards, leaning down and kisses my pulse lightly making a shiver run down my spine.
      As he withdraws he looks up art me with sorrow in his eyes.  "Who actually are you? " I ask, wiping at some of my tears, undoubtedly smearing my eyeliner.
        I see his hesitate for a moment before he stands up, closing his eyes tight. And between one second and the next a pair of black angelic looking wings sprouted from his back, looming behind him. "I am Cassiel," he said before opening his eyes, and as our eyes meet, everything goes black...
       End of Chapter 1!!! How'd you like it? Who do you think Cassiel is? If you have any suggestions on how to make my writing better I'd love to hear it. I know this first chapter is a bit jumbled with information, and probably a bit confusing, but hopefully in the next chapter it'll make sense.
       Also if anyone knows someone who could make me a new cover I'd be forever thankful. Whoever sends me one will get a shout out! I love y'all feel free to vote, comment, and share!!
