As soon as she walked out of the classroom, Marinette was ambushed by Chloé and Sabrina. "Hey, Marinette!" They said in tandem, smirking. "Hey, Chloé, Sabrina," Marinette said cautiously. They surely had some scheme that they were cooking up that would surely cause someone to be akumatized, and it seemed like they were targeting her this time.
"We have something to talk to you about," Chloé said. "A... personal matter." Sabrina bobbed her head along, smiling. They started walking to the bathroom, motioning for Marinette to follow. Marinette followed apprehensively, because she knew that if they weren't picking on her, that they would start to bully someone else, someone who might not be able to control his or her emotions as well as Marinette could.
"So, Marinette," Chloé said, drawing out her name. "Who do you have a crush on?" Surprised by the blunt question, Marinette fumbled for words. "Um, I-I don't have a crush on anyone," She said, cursing herself for that stutter. "Hmm, it must be someone," Chloé said.
"Is it Kim? Ivan? Nathaniel? Or... is it Adrien?" Marinette's cheeks heated up, and she stuttered out a reply. "N-no! I already told you that I don't have a crush on anyone!" Chloé smirked, then laughed. "Ha! It's Adrien, isn't it? I see how you act around him. It's a wonder that he hasn't already figured it out!"
Marinette started to walk out the door, but Chloé grabbed her arm. "Hold on, Marinette, I'm not done talking yet." Marinette stayed, albeit reluctantly. "Now, you are going to do exactly what I say, or else I'll reveal your crush on Adrien to the entire school, hm?" Marinette glared at Chloé, refusing to give her the satisfaction of a response. "You're going to stay away from my Adrikins. I don't care if you're his friend, but don't even try to make a move. Okay?" She smiled, and walked out the door.
"Why, that little..." Marinette said, clenching her fists. "Careful, Marinette! Don't let your emotions get out of control!" Tikki said, trying to calm her down. "No!" Marinette said. "I don't want to be careful! I'm done being careful around Chloé! She's always been rude to me, but up until now I've tolerated it. But this is the last straw!"
As she was finishing her outburst, a purple butterfly flew in the door of the bathroom, sinking into one of her earrings. Suddenly, her anger was amplified, and a glowing purple outline of a butterfly appeared in front of her face. "Marinette!" Tikki said, but it was too late. Marinette had already started to hear Hawk Moth's voice.
