Harley gets to school on the first day of senior year, and before she even steps foot into the building she knows what to expect. She knows there is going to be a cupcake waiting for her in her locker and she is so excited. She knows there are going to be crowds of people pretending be excited to see everyone, she knows her friends are going to try to convince her to finally find out who cupcake boy is. And maybe, just maybe, she thinks to herself as she opens the heavy door to the building, she'll finally do it.
She walks through the hall with a smile on her face, waving to her classmates as she makes her way to her locker. She takes her key out of her bag and unlocks It, feeling better than she has before on the first day of school.
When she opens her locker and sees just that, she smiles knowing its going to be the usual first day of school flavor, red velvet with cream cheese frosting. She has no clue what bakery these cupcakes come from but all she knows is that she would give her left arm to be able to eat these every day of the year and not just the first day of school.
Even though its eight in the morning and the desire to eat this cupcake right now is stronger than ever, she fights the urge to shove the whole thing in her mouth and takes out the cupcake holder from her backpack. She found It online on a specialty baking website, its shaped like a cupcake and keeps the baked good standing up and the frosting perfectly intact. She promised her friends she would share the last first day cupcake with them during lunch.
When this all began, the second week of freshman year, she was mildly freaked out and even a little worried. She had no clue how someone had access to her locker and how someone knew just how much she loved cupcakes. Her best friend, Levon, assured her that they weren't poison and that they were safe for her to eat. At this point, she has eaten over one hundred cupcakes and it's the one thing in her life that has stayed constant.
"Hey Harley!" Dinah, Harley's best friend since childhood, calls as she comes running down the hall, bumping into people. Dinah has zero coordination, she shouts sorries as she continues to push her way through the crowded hallway and winces as she cause a few spills. She stops to offer help but people just wave her off, Harley can't help but laugh as she watches Dinah drop the books she just picked up off of the ground.
"Well, you have the grace of a ballerina!" Harley jokes, as she puts the cupcake holder into her backpack. Since she knows someone has access to her locker, she doesn't want to risk anyone taking the cupcake away from her.
"I think my feet are too small for my body and they just can't keep me up properly." Dinah pouts, looking down at her feet. "But enough about me and my inability to stay balanced! Today is red velvet day!" She gets an excited look in her eyes and Harley knows Dinah can't wait to share the cupcake with her at lunch.
Harley nods, adjusting her bag on her shoulders and closes her locker. She locks it, before putting it away. "Its the last red velvet day." Her voice is sad and she thinks about the past few years, red velvet day is the first day of school. Not just the first day of the year but also the first day back from school breaks, its always something that helps make the day better. What is she going to do when she goes to college? No more red velvet days.
The two of them make small talk as they head to their first period class, talking about their summers and their plans for the rest of the week.
On the opposite side of the hallway, towards the gym, Alex looks out from behind his locker door and smiles as he watches them walk away. He knows he's being a little creepy, but being able to be the one to make Harley happy is something that makes him feel warm and fuzzy inside. He's always known that baked goods can make anyones day, his mom runs the most successful bakery in their county. He even brings cookies every Monday morning for the teachers, leaving them in the teachers lounge with a note.
He knows he should tell Harley he's the one putting the cupcakes in her locker, but he's nervous she's going to be disappointed when she finds out its him.
"Dude, just tell her it's you" Brett says, smacking Alex on the back of his head taking him out of his thoughts and bringing him back to reality. Brett has never been one for holding in what you have to share, he's told every girl he likes how he feels. It's how he's always dating someone, people are always impressed with his ability to share what he feels.
He shakes his head as he closes his locker, Brett hasn't stopped trying to convince him to tell her since the minute he told him about his plan. "I can't. She's not going to believe me. She's going to think it's too obvious because I work at a bakery. And what if she's disappointed?" Alex asks h him as they start to walk down the hall, heading towards their first period class which is in the same direction that Harley and Dinah had started walking in a few minutes before hand.
When Brett and Alex get to the classroom, Alex notices that Harley and Dinah are there too. They have taken two seats in the front of the classroom while he and Brett don't even bother to look further than the two seats that are right in front of them when they walk into the room.

I hope you guys like this. I'm not sure if I'm going to make this a whole long story or a short story. I think it all depends on how long it takes me to write the chapters. Vote, comment, follow. Please. I know it's been awhile and I have zero clue if anyone even reads my stories anymore but if you do, I'd really appreciate any and all feedback please.
Thanks and love you guys.
