Confessions of a Teenage Witch – Chapter One
Rhiannon’s POV
“Rhiannon, are you listening to me?” I heard my best friend Galleria say in my ear. I looked towards her to see her face expectant. I nodded vigorously; she gave me a “you’re such a liar” look and repeated what she had just said.
“I was saying that Shiloh is coming home from college today. He’ll be there when I get home, Joseph was freaking out about it this morning. I swear, ever since my mom and dad died he has become a right Old Mother Hubbard.” She said laughing. Shiloh was Galleria’s older brother who was in college and Joseph was her oldest brother who worked for the police force and had custody of Galleria and Shiloh ever since their parents died.
“Well that’s a good thing for Shiloh to be coming home, isn’t it?” I asked confused.
“Yeah, I think it’s a good thing. But the last time Shiloh came home he ended up ruining the garden out the back and Joseph went all ninja police guy on his ass.” She said shrugging.
“What’s up bitches?” A voice said from over Galleria’s shoulder. I smiled up at Nathaniel – my boy best friend- as he sat down.
“We were just discussing Galleria’s garden-wreaking brother coming back to Ridgley today.” I explained as he tucked into his rabbit food—I mean salad.
“Shiloh? He’s a hot mess.” Nathaniel said whilst shoving a piece of lettuce in his mouth. I started laughing at Nathaniel, as you could probably tell Nathaniel is gay and has a no shit attitude to everything and everyone.
“Yes, Shiloh. And please don’t talk about my brother like that, whilst I’m sitting here. Save it for your diary.” She said poking her tongue out at him. He smirked at her showing the food inside his mouth.
“Okay, Nathaniel that is disgusting. Like seriously where are your manners?” I asked moving down the lunch table closer to Galleria.
“So as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted. I need you to drop me off first today; I haven’t seen him in almost six months and I’m rather excited to see him.” She explained. I was the taxi driver out of our group; I picked up and dropped off Galleria, Nathaniel and our other friend Zara every day for school. Not that I minded, the car journeys were always spent singing along to songs or gossiping about our day.
“That’s fine. Urm, Nathaniel what does Zara have last?” I asked him, he stabbed a cherry tomato and shovelled it into his mouth, and shrugged at me. The bell went over head signalling the end of lunch, Nathaniel sighed and chucked his half eaten salad in the bin and mumbled a goodbye over his shoulder and trudged off to his lesson. He was grouchy when he didn’t eat enough, god help anyone who got in his way when he hadn’t eaten enough food.
“Off to English we march!” Galleria said passing me my backpack from under the table. I laughed at her change in attitude and linked arms with her as we walked off to English.

“It's gonna be alright we don't even have to try, It's always a good time. Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh it’s always a good time!” Nathaniel and Zara sang from the backseat as I drove back home.
“Really guys? Must you always shout every song that comes on?” Galleria said turning around and glaring at them. Zara laughed at Galleria’s face then carried on singing. Galleria pulled her denim jacket tidy and “hmph’d” at Zara and Nathaniel.
“So Zara, are you coming to mine on Friday? It’s a movie marathon special; we are watching all the Harry Potter movies.” I said wiggling my eyebrows. Movie marathons changed locations every Friday. Last week we watched Paranormal activity and the Grudge over Nathaniel’s; he was actually a massive wimp and hid under the blanket with his hands over his ears for the majority of both films.
