"I'm nervous," Jimin muttered, twiddling with his thumbs.

He stared up at the old building; his old high school stood before him, mockingly. He'd made so many memories here- more bad than good, probably.

"Hey."

Still fidgeting, Jimin looked up at the man- the man he'd loved for the past three years, who he'd never exchange for anyone else.

All he said- all he had to say- was "You've got this," and Jimin calmed down instantly. Their hands intertwined, and he felt like he was standing on his own feet again.

Hand in hand, the two entered the auditorium, and were immediately met with something that could only be described as the stench of man. Jimin immediately thought this was one of the things he definitely did not miss about going to an all-boy's school: the smell. Ugh. Even as adults, they still couldn't figure out when too much Axe was... well, too much.

"Do you want a drink, babe?" Jimin looked over to his partner and shook his head with a sleepy smile.

"No thank you, Hobi. Thank you though. I'll wait for you here."

Jimin stared at his boyfriend's retreating back with a soft smile. Sitting on the uncomfortable plastic chair covered in a dusty white sheet he looked around the room, seeing familiar faces, but not staring for long enough as to be recognized.

He saw a glimpse of Taehyung, now with bright blue hair, sitting with his boyfriend- and soon to be husband- Jeon Jungkook. Jungkook's pink hair seemed to be all anyone was talking about, and Jimin had a strong feeling it was definitely something Taehyung had planned for the wedding (which he, of course, had been invited to. Taehyung was still waiting for him to RSVP.)

A few tables over sat Seokjin, with a beautiful girl that Jimin had never seen before. From the man's Facebook posts, he guessed that it was probably Heejin, his fiancé. Jimin smiled happily for the couple, glad that he'd found someone in all the chaos life had to throw at him.

Jimin's eyes continued to wander, and suddenly his eyes met with those of Min Yoongi's, and he felt like time was standing still.

"Min Yoongi," He whispered into the night, not even realizing that he'd said the boy's- no, the man's- name out loud.

At one point in time, they'd ran away together. They believed that love could conquer all, and that nothing would be able to tear them apart- not Yoongi's abusive father, not the fact that Jimin had to go back to America, absolutely nothing.

They believed that all you needed was love and nothing else and they were so, so wrong. Jimin didn't need to remember all the details, because he knew that now. After spending years in America and finally burying everything that had happened in the past, after meeting Hoseok who brought out only the best and brightest parts of him, Jimin knew how wrong he was.

Staring at Yoongi now from across the room, with only soft, sad smiles as a form of communication, Jimin knew the man he'd once loved knew too.

"I got you a drink anyway," A voice from behind him suddenly sounded, "I know you're just gonna end up drinking from mine, so let's save us both the trouble, huh babe?"

As Hoseok wrapped his arms around Jimin's shoulders, it was then that Jimin noticed that Yoongi was alone. He could swear that, for a millisecond, he saw hurt flash in Yoongi's eyes.

He couldn't be sure. The lights were too bright, and Yoongi was already looking away.

"Is everything okay, Jimin?"

"Hmm?"

For a second, Jimin felt like he was falling back in time. He remembered stealing from convenience stores with Yoongi and holding his hand and sleeping in the back of his car and-

"Jimin?"

Jimin looks up at Hoseok- Hoseok, not Yoongi. He looks around and remembers that all of this is the past and everything about Hoseok is his future; he reminds himself that he is only here for a little while. This is his past, and he is only visiting.

"Yeah, Hobi. I'm okay."
