"Bread?"

"Mhmm," I mumbled weakly, while fiddling with the bread tie.

"Please tell me you aren't making me into a sandwich." He deadpanned.

"Sadly, I'm not. I only eat pigs for breakfast," my face contorted into an evil smile. It took him a minute to realize what I had just insinuated. His handsome face went from a sloppy smile to a scowl in a few seconds.

"I am not a pig," He seethed.

"That's debatable." I chuckled. "What are we gonna do with bread?" I gave him the 'are you seriously that dumb' look. "What, I don't see any lunch meat or anything?" he said while rummaging through my trunk. Instinctively I whacked his hand. "Ouch!"

"Keep your hands off my baby. I don't know where your hands have been." I scrunch up my nose and give him the 'you stanky' look.

"Says the one who sits in parks in the middle of the night, with a knife in their boot. That's totally normal." He said looking at me like I was crazy. "Well, sorry that you snuck up on me. You could've been a psycho killer." I slammed the trunk and started walking back.
I knew that he was following me because I could hear his footsteps behind me. I reached the edge of the pond and sat on the grass. I waited for the guy to sit down and I handed him 4 slices of bread. "Now, do you get it?" I looked at him and he shook his head yes.

I took the bread and started breaking it into tiny pieces. We sat there throwing the tiny pieces of bread to the ducks. I used to love doing this with my dad when I was a little girl. After I noticed the stranger was focused on the ducks, I took that as an opportunity to check him out. We've been hanging out for about 30 minutes, and I've yet to get a good look at his face. It's so dark that all I can make out is the outline of his face and his hair, but boy he has some hot hair. "You like what you see, firecracker?" I could hear the smirk in his voice. "I'm still trying to figure out what I'm seeing." I chuckled. "Ouch, that hurt right here," he said patting his chest. "Cry me a river, build a bridge, and jump off of it." I waited for a snarky response, but... nothing.

It got eerily quiet, I could feel the tension in the air. I poked him in the side, "Hey, you okay?" He snapped out of his thoughts "Oh ya, I'm good."  He was obviously not good, but I didn't want to push him. I stood up and wiped the dust and grass off of my butt and held out my hand for him to take. He gave me a look, like he was questioning what I was doing, but he gave me his hand nonetheless. I pulled him up and drug him to the swings. "You wanna have a jumping contest?" I asked, hoping it would lighten the mood. I wish the lighting was better, I want to know what this kid looks like. "I thought you'd never ask." I don't know why, but hearing him happy again made me happier.

We did three different competition categories; Tricks, Height, and Distance. I won the tricks category with my toe touch, he did a basic spin and almost landed on his face. He won in height, he almost went over the top bar of the swing set. I thought he was going to break his leg or something. And I won in distance, I just barely beat him though. Today was horrible, but this stranger, no matter how nutty he is, made tonight better. "Thanks." I said watching the stranger stretch. He stopped and looked at me, "for what?" "Making tonight suck a lot less than it did." I gave him a sad smile, even though he couldn't see it. "Thank you too." he said. "What did I do?" I asked, all I've done since I've met him was try to kill him and make fun of him. "You taught me that even the simplest things can be fun." I laughed, "I don't know what you're calling simple, duck feeding and jumping contests are only for the coolest people. You're lucky I let you hang with me. If we are being honest, I'm too cool for you." He looked at me he, "you are probably right." I yawned, "hey, do you want a ride home? I have to get back before my dad sends a search party," I said as I checked my phone.

"Trying to get me in bed already? Dang, you're straightforward." He said smirking.

Whack

"OUCHHH!" he screamed. "You are a perv. I retract my offer. Have fun walking," I said walking off. I am seeing how long it takes him to ask for a ride. I walk to my car. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. I turned around and my eyes scanned the play ground, but there is no sign of him. If you just arrived you would have never known he was here at all. My face fell, I don't know why. I'm.. I guess the only word to describe it is disappointed. I thought about yelling for him, but hearing screams at almost 3 AM normally freaks people out. I get in my car after putting all my stuff back in the trunk, and reality hits me. I may never see this kid again. Even though I just met him, I missed him. "Oh well," I said to myself when as I put the car in drive. I looked out the window one last time, hoping by some miracle that he'd magically appear again. He didn't. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

A/N/// Hey guys, I hope you are enjoying this. I started this book when I was 13, so it's rough. I'm trying to fix it though. It's not the conventional love story, I wanted to be original. Lol. Will they meet again, or will they go on without seeing each other again? idk, find out or don't it's up to you. 😂
