I bit my lip, squeezing my eyes shut. I couldn't go back in there. There was no way, I was going to walk in that classroom today. No way. I gulped in a breath of air, and coasted past the classroom, and walked down the brightly lit hallway carefully. I certainly didn't want to get caught. I guess if I had a little free time, I could try to explore the school.. But I'd probably get busted for skipping. And.. Then put into in-school suspension. Wait... In-school suspension! That meant I would be away from those freaks!

As much as I would like that, I couldn't risk the record. So, I spun back around, going back the way I had come. Much to my dismay, the hallways seemed to get larger and larger, and more foreign than before. Panic squeezed into my conscious. Great, I'm lost. Carefully, I spun around, trying to collect myself.

Okay, so.. I left the classroom... and went to the bathroom which was just.. down... I looked down the hallway both ways, hands squeezed together. Great, I will never find my way back now. My heart started to race just as the bell rang, and students began to file out of nearby classrooms fast. Soon, I was in a sea of people, and like a fish out of water- my mouth was wide open. I didn't see one famaliar face. So, getting over my shyness, I approached a raven-haired girl.

The girl was trying to insert her key into her locker. She tried one way, with no success, and flipped it over, trying again. Getting frustrated, the girl slapped her locker with one perfectly manicured hand. "Uhm, excuse me?" I asked, nervously. Immediantly the girl snapped her head up. I was struck- at first. Her eyes were a yellow color, intelligent and animalistic almost. I was struck by their beauty. The black hair girl frowns, and tilts her head.

I coughed, snapping out of it. She definetly noticed I was staring, and she looked a little more than frustrated now. "I'm sorry- I.. I'm sort of lost." She nods, and gives me a small smile. I patiently waited for her to respond, and when she didn't, I frowned. "Uhm, so can you help me?" The girl opens her mouth as if to speak, and then points to her throat shaking her head. I was getting confused now. "What?" I ask.

"She doesn't speak." A deep, husky voice says behind me. I turn and am greeted with the sight of a tall blond boy. He has the same yellow eyes as the raven-haired girl and I immediantly wonder if they are siblings. The irony of their completely different hair colors, though, has me thinking otherwise.

"Oh, god. I am so sorry." I say, turning back to the girl. I turn to the blond boy, and he's rolling his eyes. "She's not dead or anything. She just doesn't speak." I nodded, feeling even worse. Great, all I wanted was help, and I end up causing near destruction for myself and others.

I was overwhelmed by the thought to ask why she didn't speak but, instead, I turned to the blond. "So, can you help me?" The blond nods slowly, and I take this short time to assess his features. He's got an exotic air about him, with defined angles for his face. His skin tone is a healthy shade of tan, and he was certainly classified as handsome.

"What class do you have next?" I look down at my binder, frowning. "Uhm.. Harroway? Something.. Like that.." I mumbled, hoping I pronounced it right. The blond grins. "I'm Cal. Mr. Harroway is the art teacher around here. Well, art and photography since we couldn't afford a photography teacher." I smile up at Cal, and look back at the raven haired girl, who has occupied herself with her locker.

"Well, I'm Lecie. Could you, possibly, walk me to class?" I ask timidly. Cal nods, "Well, that is my next class." I smiled. Maybe, I could make friends. It wouldn't be hard to keep it from them.. Right?
