Chapter 2

Josh's pov

Me and Jen are walking out of the gates after seeing the "black keys" and meeting them. I hop in the car and wait for jen when she gets in I start it up. I look at jen who had her head pushed up against the window I stop at a stop light "do you wanna get something to eat or because it's late do you want to stop by my house and get something to eat there?" I ask but jen stays silent "jen?" I try and she turns "yes?" she says I repeat my question "can you just drop me off at my house?" she ask with pain in her eyes I nod pushing on the gas petal "sure" I say looking back to the road we get to Jens house and I walk her to the door " do you wanna come in for a drink or something?" she ask unlocking the door "sure" I say following behind her we walk into the kitchen and she pulls out two wine glasses pouring red wine in hers and white in mine she knows me so well I smile weakly at her and take a seat on the stool she picks up her phone reading something and a single tear rolls down her face I use my thumb to wipe it and take her phone out of her hand setting it on the counter I stand up and carry her bridle style to her bed she looks so exhausted I lay her down on her bed and cover her up I turn off the light and am about to leave when I hear her small voice "josh can you hold me until I fall asleep?" "okay" I say walking over to her and wrapping my arms abound her she lays her head on my chest and is out like lightning I get up and walk downstairs finishing my wine and walking outside and to my car and when I'm about to leave I see jen running after me I get out and she runs into me almost nocking me down and hugs me sobs escaping her mouth I hold her picking her up and resting her head on my shoulder "I love you josh thanks for always being a good friend" she says and her eyes close as she falls asleep wait what did she mean when she said she loved me she only meant as a brother I know it and I feel the same way she's like a sister to me I think I hope it's nothing more I say out loud and carry jen back inside and leave for real this time
