After yesterday's events, I was late for an interview. I rushed to get ready as I hear banging and yelling next door.
"Geum-bi! Stop running! You need a bath!"
Whatever they were doing, it seems that their house was being destroyed in the process. Being curious about what was happening to my neighbor, I forgot that I was late. I hurried to the building, stopping quickly at a local coffee shop for some piping coffee for me and Jinyoung. I get there, out of breath, looking at my watch.
'Only ten minutes late eh?'
I look up to see Jinyoung waiting for me near a pillar in front of the JYP building. I and Jinyoung were here to start our career, let this be our first step. He looks this way as I walk towards him.
"Well, finally you're here."
"Yeah sorry, it was hard to get up."
"How? You're an early bird, how can you not get up."
"I was busy last night."
"With what?- Never mind we're late let's go."
He grabs my arm, dragging me into the building. We get into the elevator with other people joining as well. We move to the back as more and more people crowd the elevator. He looks at me, making sure I was alright, then notices that I'm holding two cups of coffee.
"Is one of those mines?" He points down.
"Ah yeah. I forgot I had them." I pass him his cup. "Here, just the way you like it."
He smiles. "Thanks."
He takes a sip of it and then looks at the cup."I'm not forgiving you for being late still."
"Aww come on. I got you a venti cup. You should."
"Nah, ten minutes are still too much."
I pout. "Then give me the coffee back." I reach to grab the coffee.
"Nope." He moves it away from my reach."Come on," I reach for it again. "If you're not going to forgive me then don't drink it."
Then the doors of the elevator open. Everyone gets out, Jinyoung taking this chance to move out the way of my grasp.
"Hey!"
He chuckles and walks out of the elevator.
"I forgive you, now hurry."
I smile and follow behind him. We approach a counter with a lady with long wavy hair, sitting there on her phone, looking through Instagram.
"Excuse me," I say.
She ignores me and keeps scrolling through her phone.
"Ma'am, excuse me." She looks up only to roll her eyes and turn her chair around.I get irritated wanting to yank her shirt to make her look at me. Jinyoung sees this and tries to get ahold of the lady's attention.
"Excuse me miss." He starts. "We have an interview here." She turns towards him and gives him the most flirtatious smile.
"Of course, what is your name, hun?" She seductively says making me want to gag.
Jinyoung takes this well, as I don't see him agitated from her trying to hit on him.
"Park Jinyoung and this is Y/N." He says politely as can be.
"Jinyoung? What a handsome name?" She gives him a wink putting his name into the system. "You'll be called in twenty minutes."
He smiles. "And what about her?" She looks towards me with a disgusted face.
"What's your name." She says harshly.I try to remain calm. "Y/N." She types it in and I notice that she's taking a long time.
"You'll be called in thirty minutes." She says not looking up.
"Okay thank you," I say not wanting to be near this lady, I walk away.
"Thanks, ma'am." Jinyoung walking after me. "Anytime sweetcheeks~" She blows him a kiss.
I sit down quickly, drinking my coffee to drown my frustration. He sits down next to me and takes a sip of his coffee.
"I wonder if you'll be surrounded by girls if you become an idol." He laughs.
"Yeah, I probably will. Everyone will love me." I scrunch my nose up."Eww, disgusting." I laugh. "I won't be able to be near you unless I want to be a target for your future fangirls." He laughs.
"Nah, you'll still be my best friend."We chat among ourselves until we see people walking out of the double doors, mad, sad, or even crying. We look at each other with the same thought. 'I hope that won't be us.'
A man walks out after with a clipboard in his hand. "Park Jinyoung, for trainee."
"Well, that's me, wish me luck!" He stands up. "You don't need it, you're made of luck."
He smiles and walks to the man. Then they disappear as the double doors closed shut.
I wait as I drink the rest of my coffee. I get up and throw the empty cup in the trash. Then I hear a familiar voice. I turn around to see Dahyun talking to some other girls.
"Dahyun!" I say as I walk towards her.
She turns around as she smiles as she sees me.
"Y/n. what are you doing here?""I could ask you the same."
"I work here." She says. "I work as part of a group."
"Really? That's amazing." I respond. "Jinyoung is here to become part of a group."
"Oh, so he's here also? Well if you guys are here means you want to work here."
"Yeah, I here to work for a group. As a choreographer and music producer."
"Ah that's right, that was your majors." She smiles. "I hope you work here. And maybe for our group."
I chuckle. "Yeah, that would be fun. Also, what is your group?"
"Hmm? I thought it would be obvious. It's Twice."
"Wait, no way!"
"Yep."
"That's amazing. I hope I could work with you guys."
"Yeah, I hope so too. Anyway, I have to go to practice, talk to you later.
A couple of minutes pass and the double doors open to reveal Jinyoung. I stand up to greet him as he walks towards me with an expressionless face.
"What happened? Did you become a trainee?" I say worried.
He shakes his head. My face saddens. "No, I didn't become a trainee." I look at him is sympathy.
"I became part of a group!" He says as he grabs my arms.
