"Have you realized your mistake?" Yoongi's father demanded.
"No, father. I don't understand what's wrong!" shouted Yoongi as his face began to flush red from where his father had slapped him.
Yoongi had made the biggest mistake in his life. He had chosen to follow his dream and pursue a music career when his father just wanted him to focus on studying.
"If you keep going with that bullshit about your dreams, I will make sure you never step into this household again," said Yoongi's father harshly.
"Okay, father, I'll leave, and I bet on my life that I won't ever see you again, because unlike you, I have a dream, and you won't stop me until I get it." With that, Yoongi slammed the door to his house and left his family.
Min Yoongi, 17 years old, had just been disowned by his family and had no where to go. He walked out of his 1-story house and headed down the streets of Daegu. He strolled quietly, away from his dreadful house and to a tiny grocery store. Yoongi fumbled in his pockets and found 30,000 won. With that money, he bought a bowl of ramen and sat down near the window to eat.
Clouds in the blue sky, such a peaceful day, but Yoongi was disowned, what a bad day. Yet, despite the fact that he had little money and no extra clothing or food, Yoongi was still not worried. He already had a plan. As Yoongi kicked the cans around on the streets, he walked towards Taehyung's house. Taehyung, 15 years old, was one of the few friends that Yoongi had. Yoongi made his way up Tae's ridiculously long driveway and pushed the door bell to Tae's huge mansion. He waited for a few seconds before Tae opened the door with a sleepy face.
"What do you want?" asked Tae.
"Hey, I was wondering if I can stay for a while at your house?" asked Yoongi.
"Sure. We have lots of rooms open," replied Tae without hesistation.
As Yoongi stepped into the entrance of the palace, two boys walked up next to Tae.
"Guys, this is Yoongi. This is Jeong gug and Hoseok," introduced Tae.
"Hey," greeted Yoongi cooly as he treaded upstairs. Yoongi stayed at Tae's house sometimes when he was arguing with his parents. But this times it's different. This time he's not going back. Yoongi walked to his usual room and flopped down on the humongous bed. A knock on the door sounded, and Yoongi answered, "Come in."
It was one of the boys, Hoseok.
"Uh, I was wondering if you would like lunch?" asked Hoseok.
"No, it's fine. I'll eat later. Don't really have an appetite right now," responde Yoongi.
With that final answer, Hoseok was about to leave Yoongi alone, but changed his mind at the last second and came back into Yoongi's room again. To Yoongi's shock, Hoseok sat down by the windows and started staring at him.
"You can call me J-hope," said Hoseok.
"Cool. Call me Suga if you want."
Silence followed as Suga and J-hope stared at each other.
"Hey, I was wondering. Why did you leave your house? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
"My parents kicked me out. It's that simple," Suga replied, trying his best to sound nonchalant.
"Are you okay?" J-hope asked again.
"Yeah. I got over it a long time ago," said Suga.
J-hope stood up but just when Suga thought he was going to leave, J-hope sat down on the bed beside him and put his arms around Suga. To Suga's surprise, his chest started to tighten and small sobs escaped from his mouth. Suga, broke down, just like that, in front of a total stranger, crying his eyes out.
"Why are my parents like this? Why can't they just accept what I want to do? I'm already 17!" he choked out between his sobs.
"Nobody, nobody! Nobody understands me. My life is hell," screamed Suga as he punched J-hope in the chest multiple times.
J-hope, gentle as he is, patted Suga's head over and over and repeated, "It's okay. It's okay." Suga tightly clutched J-hope't shirt as tears and snot smeared over J-hope's shoulder, and J-hope tightly wrapped his arms around his crying friend.
Moments passed, and Suga's crying slowly stopped to small hiccups. Turing his face up, Suga smiled brightly at J-hope with red and puffy eyes and left J-hope alone in the bedroom. As J-hope's face started to turn red, his heart went "Ba-Dump. Ba-Dump. Ba-Dump." J-hope quickly left the room with a still thumping heart and went downstairs to get the leftover lunch. He sat down on the stool and stared at the microwave food silently. What had just happened felt unmistakably real.
