Alone, all I ever was.... I lived all alone in an alleyway, with no money, food, clothes, or a family. My parents had abandoned me when I was just a small child, and ended up in a shitty part of Lakewood. I was scavenging for food, so far, I had found nothing. I sighed. Maybe I could check the Bodega's dumpster, it normally had edible food thrown out. I had to be careful not to get caught, the last time Mr. Gar had found me sitting in the back, and threatened me with a baseball bat. It was getting dark soon. As night fell, I used my stealth to make it to the back of the bodega. Luckily for me, the dumpster was open, so I started to look through it. I found a bag of unopened chips, who would waste that? I kept looking, and found a sandwich.  This will do... I thought. Suddenly, the back door swung open, and there stood a furious Gar. " WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT BEING HERE?!"  He grabbed the bat, and I almost died of fear.  I ran off with food, and made it back to safety.  I sighed, and sat down, and started to eat. I needed to eat a lot, due to my lack of calories.  I sat there, wishing that I would have a better life than this.  I hoped that day would come soon. After I finished eating, I yawned sleepily.  I leaned back on the brick wall, resting my eyes. Maybe I'll just... rest here for a bit.  I thought, soon falling into a deep sleep.

I woke up, rubbing my eyes, as I sat up. That sleep was somewhat... peaceful? I opened my eyes, and noticed that I was in a bed, someone's bed. I pulled back the dark violet comforter, only to see that I was dressed differently.  I was wearing a T- shirt that was big on me, and leggings. Where was I-? I heard nearby footsteps, and I gripped the blanket tightly, covering half of my face. The door opened, and I saw a tall, slender man, with purple skin, ( almost lavender ) and black hair, that was neatly combed back, he looked at me with half lidded eyes. " I see that you're awake." He says, in a monotonic voice. I nodded. " Um, who are you?" I asked, shyly. He stepped over to me, and sat on the bed, facing me. " I'm Professor Venomous, I found you in the alley, I couldn't let you live in those conditions, as I brought you here to my house." He replied, looking some what sad. He seemed... sweet. " What about the clothes? How did I get into them?" I asked, revealing the current outfit I was in. Venomous' face was tinted a dark purple. I was a bit shocked. " You changed me while I was sleeping?" " I couldn't let you wear those torn up clothes." He replied.

I also probably looked like I needed a good scrub, from being in the alley so much. I looked up at him, and asked, " It is okay if I shower?" He nodded. He stood up, and said, " I'll show you where the bathroom is." I got up out of the bed, and followed him down a hallway.

I got pounced by a..... green mouse girl. " INTRUDER!" she shouted, slamming me back. " Ow!" I cried out. " Fink, that's no way to treat a house guest." Venomous says, sternly. " Sorry. Boss." she said, going up to him. I stood up, dusting myself off. " This is Fink, my minion." He says, and she gave me an evil glare. " Nice to meet you, um... Fink." I said, a bit scared. " Yeah, yeah..." she says. I suddenly had an idea. " That's a very effective tackle you have, there, I never saw you coming, you seem very stealthy, I bet you can sneak attack anybody if they came an intrude the house." Fink grinned, triumphantly. " I know I could. ya' know, you don't seem too bad." She says, and I smiled slightly. " Now." Venomous said, turning back to me. " Proceed to the bathroom?" I nodded.

As I stepped out of the bathroom, drying my hair off with the towel, I walked into the room, where I woke up at, and found a note and a box. I read the note:

I went out while you were in the shower,

and picked you up a new outfit. - Venomous.

I opened the box, pulling out a black cardigan, a black cami top, black and white striped pants, and red converse sneakers, and a choker, with a purple snake charm. I changed into the outfit, and when I walked out of the room, I ran into him. " Looking for me?" he asked, and my face flushed with nervousness. " Yes- no! I mean..." he shushed me, gently. " I never got your name." He says, catching my attention. " Oh! How silly of me! I'm Kayla." I replied, and he smiled, just a little. " What a pretty name." He replied. and I smiled, shyly. Venomous looked at me closely. " That outfit suits you, I knew I made the right choice. " I nodded. " Mhm..." He quickly changed the subject.

" Anywho, you must be hungry, how does breakfast sound?" I nodded. " I could eat." Venomous led me down into the kitchen, and I helped him, and he seemed a bit shocked by my actions. As we finished making breakfast, he called in Fink to eat. We all sat down at the table, and fink sat in her high chair. " After you finish eating, I need you to practice your piano scales." Venomous says, turning to her. " Aw, phooey!" She complained. I sat there, watching them argue. For villains, they seemed like a normal everyday family, even if it was just him and Fink. It seemed like Fink was treated as if she was his daughter. Venomous soon gathered up the dishes, when we were done eating. Fink soon went off to practice, so it was just me and him. I sat at the table, wondering if I really was staying here.

" So, Kayla? Do you have any powers?" He asked me, and I jumped a little. I nodded. " Yeah, I have stealth, telepathy, to see someone's past, and, the power to turn into a dragon." He seemed interested. He finished up with the dishes, dried his hands off, and pulled out a chair, and sat next to me. " A dragon, you say?'' He responded, and I blushed a little. " Y- yeah, I was mutated." He seemed pained, but then asked, " Mind telling me more about yourself?" I was shocked. Was this normal? I've never been in a conversation like this before. " Well, I need to eat a lot. I need a lot of calories, but since I've been homeless most of my life, my metabolism didn't get enough." Venomous rested his chin on his hand. " How many calories do you need in your diet?" He asked, curiously. I looked away, " Since I'm a mutant, I need about a thousand a day." He quickly shot up. " A thou- woah!" I nodded. " Kayla, you're not even near a thousand, telling by the looks of your physical state." He was right, I wasn't in the greatest shape right now. Just yesterday, I felt like my stomach was digesting itself out of starvation.
