[7] The Squad I

Mirage was on the bench trying to tie his shoe laces. He couldn't tie them... at all. He looked up at Wraith with puppy eyes. "I told you I was done tying your shoe laces Mirage!" She said looking away. "But, Wraith.. I can't fight without my laces tied!" He grinned as he knew she'd have to tie them now. "You nuisance!" She exclaimed leaning down to tie, Mirage sat there smiling like a little kid who just got candy. She sat back up again giving Mirage a death stare. "What?! I can't tie them!" Mirage shouted trying to prove a point. "Little baby." Wraith said under her breath. "Boarding ship!" A voice said in a loud speaker as lots of people on lots benches got up and walked towards the large carrier ship.

As they stepped on, it was the usual. Faces, faces and more faces none of significance, once again like usual all people flying into their deaths. Their faith in survival was stupid as they all stared at Wraith with eyes of a hunter about to shoot a deer. She ignored them as she always did but Mirage didn't as he yelled at them all "Hey you! Yeah you mutt face when I say you don't look at beau-be-ful... cool person like that!" Mirage yelled at all the members the a hand flung down and bashed into Mirage's skull "Shut it! Or next I'll go harder next time!" Wraith shouted. "Ow.." Mirage whimpered as a little tear appeared in his eye.

They landed doing the normal. Murdering tons of people like it was nothing. They also did what they liked to do near the end of the game, "Hey wraith baby-" He was interrupted by Wraith's knife whizzing past his ear just skimming his skin. "Woah! I was only kidding!" He shouted in fear. "What do you want?" She asked not even looking up. "Why are you in the Apex Games? Like money?" He asked. Wraith sat still messing with her gun. A minute passed, "Wraith-?" "Yeah, I'm thinking!" Wraith snapped. "Well you see I'm here for answers I guess. I wanted to know about my past... but you helped me see glimpses." Wraith said stopping what she was doing. "Why's you take so long to answer then? It seems really specific." Mirage said scratching his head over-dramatically. "Well I was considering if I wanted to tell you the truth." Wraith responded. "Why do you not trust me?! Why not?!" Mirage said jumping up in shock. "Why are you in the Apex Games Mirage." Wraith cut him off with. "Well, fame. I've always been good at getting attention with my brothers. I used to prank them ALL the time!" He sat and giggled to himself while he told her all the pranks he did.

What is this feeling and why am I getting it again? Wraith kept asking herself. She kept asking and asking but she knew it was love but just kept denying it not wanting to realise that she was opening up with someone and before she knew it she was sitting on the floor with Mirage giggling about his past and comforting him about his brothers. This isn't you Wraith, you've changed. And we don't like it. Her voices kept saying and as they got up to move for the circle they opened the door to see a man with a crown on his head running his finger through the dirt. Mirage looked at Wraith raising an eyebrow. They didn't know how he didn't hear them, he was literally right in front of the door. "Ah! They must be in this hou-" He said as he turned to see Wraith an Mirage staring at him. 

He screamed as he fell back and started to mumble words in another language as he tried frantically to pull out his gun. And he points it towards them shaking, "God does not want me dead yet." He yells as he aims at Mirage. Wraith throws her knife at his gun and it flies out of his hand. He squeals and cowers in a ball, Wraith goes to pull out her gun but Mirage's hand stops her and he crouches down. "What's your name?" Mirage asks. The man looks up with his weird gas mask looking thingy. He mumbled a Norse word. "But you can call me Bloodhound." He then adds. "What are you doing Mirage get it over with!" Wraith says. "Nah. Let's keep. I mean he tracked us ALL the way to here! That's a really good ability." Mirage says coming back up to stand next to Wraith. "Yeah it could work. But if ties to pull anything funny, I'll kill him." Wraith says giving Bloodhound a death stare. "What if I don't want to join your squad?" Bloodhound whimpers still on the floor. "You don't have a choice. You die here and now or... maybe die later I don't know!" Mirage snaps.

Mirage helped him up, Wraith still wasn't very confident about this decision but she started to trust Mirage. As he helped him up a crow flew down and started attacking Wraith. Bloodhound whistled and the crow stopped attacking and flew straight to Bloodhound's arm. "Wait wh-w-what just happened?" Mirage exclaims freaking out in confusion. "This is my friend." Bloodhound says stroking his feathers. They continue on the match with Bloodhound tracking the enemies and Wraith and Mirage doing most of the killing even though Bloodhound did join in, just he wasn't a very good shot. They furthermore went on to win the match. And as soon as they got back to HQ Mirage left in a hurry. No-one knew why but he just vanished leaving Wraith and Bloodhound alone. 

"Maybe I misjudged you." Wraith says clearing silence. "We-" Bloodhound isn't even able to respond before. "That doesn't mean I haven't let my guard down." Wraith snaps. "I'm beginning to like this squad thought." Bloodhound chuckles. "I like Mirage a lot he's very open, but I think I'll like you more when you open up." Bloodhound says. "Don't push I haven't got any intent to kill you yet." Wraith responds. "And that's good?" Bloodhound questions in shock. "Well considering I've had a knife at Mirage's throat you could say so." Wraith says smiling. " You seem to like Mirage, eh?" Bloodhound says elbowing her. "No, not like that! We're just squad mates that have a... well roller-coaster of a relationship." Wraith says holding her blush back. "So now I'm thinking, well maybe Mirage doesn't treat you right then." Bloodhound says smirking under his mask. "You think so?" Wraith jolts trying to find any reason to deny all these feelings well. "Well do you LIKE the feelings you get when you are around him?" Bloodhound pries. "No... I don't think so." Wraith says questioning everything she thought she knew. "Well then there's your answer, and I'd better be off see you!" Bloodhound yodels getting up and walking toward a bus. While Wraith sits with her head in her hands.
