The Nerd's Secret Life [MAJOR EDITING!]

Day 24.

Hailey's Pov.

 "So Hailey, we meet again." The officer say's sitting across from me going through his file. I just sit there staying silent starring at my socks.

 What? They arrested me and they didn't let me put some shoes on, and to think it was raining a little bit, I'm wearing wet socks.

 I hate it.

 "Well Hailey, since I already know the first half of the story, I don't need to hear that again, but what I would love to hear is about the school lock down and you killing your mother." He say's and I look up from my socks and he's starring at me. He said 'killing your mother' so easily as if he's said it a billion times before.

 And at him saying that my throat dries up and I open my mouth to speak but nothing comes out. I can't find my voice to speak.

 And honestly, I don't know if it's from him questioning me about me killing my mother, or if it's from Cory kissing me.

 "Do you need some water?" He ask's me making a face that makes him look constipated. Stopping the smile from forming on my face I just nod my head slightly and he get's up and goes over to a water machine and grabs on of the little cups and filling it with water.

 Since when did they get a water machine in hear?

 I'm losing it, I need sleep.

 When he comes back over with the water I grab it from him and I take a sip of it as he sits back down in his chair, after I finish the water I take a few deep breaths in and out. And I start telling him everything that happened at school that day.

 I, Hailey Elizabeth White killed my own mother.

 "Well, it all started I guess when our school announced there was a intruded on the school grounds." I start off and I look up at the officer and I quickly look back down at my socks.

 "Excuse me, this is your principal. There has been a suspicious person walking around the school yard and we ask that all students and teachers to what we've practiced and remain calm." 

 "The principal came over the intercom and announced that there was a suspicious person on school grounds, I had automatically assumed it was my mother, but I liked to think it wasn't her. And then I questioned myself on whether or not it was even possible for her to escape jail and if-" I start crying and choking up on the next line I'm about to say, "If she was really set on ki-ki-"

 "It's okay Haley, I get what you're trying to say, why don't you move up to the part where she breaks into the classroom." The officer say's and I look up at him with tears streaming down my face, and I reach for a tissue that's sitting on the table.

 Hear footsteps in the hall.

 Trying to open the doors of classrooms.

 Footsteps get louder and louder by the minute.

 Someones at our classroom door.

 "I heard my mom's footsteps coming down the hallway, she tried opening the doors that were before our classroom and had no luck, the louder the footsteps got the more terrified and scared people got."

  Banging on the classroom door.

 And that's when I hear my mother's voice. "OPEN THIS DOOR NOW!"

 And then before everyone knew it there was a banging on our classroom door followed by my mother's voice." I say the tears still coming down my face.

 No matter what I call her, mother, mom, Carrie, that bitch. No matter what she's done, what I've thought of her, what her intentions were to do to me, maybe her killing me, she could live with and that's just the kind of person she is, but with me, I can't live with myself knowing I took her life. Someone was alive, and I took their life. I should be locked up for the rest of my life, I deserve to die, I'm a horrible human being.
