"no fucking way" you muttered under your breath. 

"what was that?" petra asked. 

"it sounded like titans, obviously" oluo said. 

"the attitude isn't needed right now" petra snapped back, clearly frightened. 

"are the horses rested enough?" eld asked petra. 

"we barely got here a few minutes ago." 

"we need them now. we're getting out of here." eld said. 

"maybe we can just go up to higher ground." gunther suggested, "use the gear since we can use it in the forrest. the titans won't go after the horses either." 

"what do we do?" you asked eld, "you're in charge here." 

the familiar ringing of a signal flare rang through your ears. you and the team collectively turned towards the green smoke which was fired from the forrest. 

"does this mean that the mission is over?" petra asked.

"i think the titans are coming in the forrest. we should look for higher ground" gunther said. 

you and the team sought refuge in the higher area of the trees and waited out for the next orders from eld. 

"what do we do?" eren asked.

"should we leave the forrest?" you suggested. 

"not without the horses." oluo jumped in. 

"its too risky to go back down and get the horses though." petra said.

"should we go scout out the rest of the team around the forrest? surely they would've left already" gunter asked eld. 

he looked upon the team with uncertainty. placing the team in danger would completely wreck his being. 

"everyone's gear is intact right?" he asked, everyone nodded with affirmation. "we're going around then" 

with eld leading, all of you zipped through the forrest. you were scared and desperate to leave. you had never envisioned your first official scouts mission to be this scary. you could only imagine the number of casualties coming from the outer portions of the formation. 

loud, thundering footsteps were running in the forrest, when you tried to turn around to look petra screamed at you. 

"(y/n), do not turn around!" 

you stopped yourself and continued to move around in the forrest. eren was right beside you, occasionally turning to look at you and to make sure you were okay. 

the footsteps started to become louder and louder, you couldn't take it anymore. you had to turn around. the moment when eren turned to look was when you turned to look. 

instead of a group of titans behind you, someone of the scout regime's uniform was right behind the team. 

"hey guys-" you stopped in your tracks when the person came up quickly towards gunther and quickly slashed at him 

a scream was let out by petra as gunther's body fell to the ground. 

it was like in the blink of an eye, the figure of a person transformed into the female titan, the one titan that you had spent the entire time escaping from. 

"(y/n)! hurry up!" eren shouted at you. you had no choice but to quickly move on, in fear of the female titan chasing after you. 

the the gap between you and the female titan was slowly closing in. you wanted to scream, you had never been so close to an abnormal in your life. 

"eld! its right behind us!" you and eren yelled. 

eld turned around briefly to assess her distance to the formation, "go faster" 

you let out more air and boosted yourself through the forrest, as you started to gain ground away from the titan, the footsteps went into an all out sprint and began chasing all of you once more. 

"we can't do this eld! its catching up to us!" petra said. 

eld turned to draw his blades, "i'm going" 

"not without us" petra added in. 

"eren, (y/n)" oluo turned to the both of you, "we will protect you" 

it was in a blink of an eye that the titan's eyes had been gouged out. she began to face her back towards a tree, her hands covering her neck. they all took turns, flying through the air with grace and making attempts at cutting her arms. 

no mercy was given towards the female titan. eventually the female titans arms let up and her neck was open to the three soldiers. 

in a silent manner, eld rushed over hoping to cut the female titan's neck. he was stopped by her jaw, as she had bit down onto him, crushing his body in a mere seconds before spitting him out. a lifeless eld fell to the ground. 

a panic petra began to get away from the titan, you could see it in her eyes; she feared for her life. 

"pull yourself together!" oluo yelled out to her but it was too late, the female titan smashed her body into the tree, killing her almost instantly. 

in a rush of anger, oluo came down on the female titan, trying to cut the nape of her neck. the titan formed a hardshell over her neck and on contact oluo's blades broke instantly. 

you hung there in silence with eren, tears threatening to form once more as a comrade was killed by the female titan. with a swift kick, oluo's body was flung to the side, hitting the tree before falling to the ground. 

eren looked at you with a face of sadness but with eyes of raging anger, surely he wouldn't want to scare you anymore. 

he gave you a chaste kiss on the forehead mouthing a few words to you before he began to rush towards the female titan. 

please don't cry.
