"Hello, any one here?" I say as I walked inside the Martinez household. Ruby called and said there was an emergency. "Ruby?" "Whats the 911 emergency." I called out but I still got no answer. Was no one here? "Feliz cumpleaños Dani! Feliz cumpleaños Dani! Feliz cumpleaños Dani, Feliz cumpleaños Daniii.....Feliz cumpleaños Dani!" My head snapped towards the kitchen to see the Martinez's and Olivia walking out of their kitchen with a cake in their hand, not just any cake but tres leches. I instantly smiled, "make a wish mija." Geny smiled and I bent down to blow out my candles. They all cheered, "you're legal now. How does it feel?" She asked. "Like Nothing..i still feel seventeen." I chuckled and they all chuckled to. "But thank you guys. I really appreciate you all." I say, bringing smiles to their face. "Awee, of course mija. You're family." Ruben says and the rest nodded. My heart fluttered, hearing them say that brings tears to my eyes. "I love you guys." I pulled them all into a group hug and they hugged me back. "We love you to." Ruby says. I smiled wide, i love them so much. I'm so glad I get to be apart of their family.

"We have a surprise for you." I pulled away from the group hug, my eyebrow raised at them. They were all grinning at me, "What is it?" They all simultaneously pointed behind me. I slowly turned around and my eyes went wide. "MARIO!!" I screamed as I ran over to him and jumped into his arms. He instantly caught me, "I missed you so much." I sighed, he chuckled. "I missed you to Dani." "What are you doing here?" I say. He smiled at me, "It's your birthday, I wasn't gonna miss it." I smiled at him and hugged him tighter.

I took a deep breath as I stared at the prison building in front of me. "I can't believe I'm doing this." I laugh nervously, Oscar looked over at me. Slowly interwining our hands together. I looked down at our hands and smiled a little, "It's gonna be okay, I'm right here." He smiled softly and I nodded. "Alright,let's do this." I say as I started walking towards the building, Oscar followed behind me with our hands still intertwined.

Once we got inside oscar and I had to do some application then we got patted down before we walked Into the visitors room. Oscar and I sat at the table waiting for my fathers arrival. My heart was pounding right now. What if my dad hated me? I haven't seen him since he went to jail. He must Hate me. Oscar squeezed my hand and I looked over at him. "todo va a estar bien." He says, I smiled softly. "espero que sí." I say. "Thanks for doing this by the way." "Of course." Then we heard the door open and we both looked up to see my father walking in, in a orange jumpsuit with a prison guard behind him. He never took his eyes off me as he made his way over to us. I felt like the air was ripped from my lungs, I suddenly forgot how to breath. "Mamita." He says as tears weld up in his eyes. "Papá." I choked out, I stood up and walked over to him. "I missed you so much." We both said as we pulled each other into a brief hug. Then we both took a seat. "Lo siento papá." I cried out and he looked at me in confusion. "Para qué mija?" He asked. "Por no venir a verte." I replied, sniffling. "I should have came and saw you, I just didn't want to see you like this." He smiled softly, "it's okay, your here now and that's all that matters." "And today's your birthday, my baby's all grown up." He chuckled softly and I chuckled to. "Look at you, so beautiful." He says as he touched my hand. "NO TOUCHING!" The guard yelled, I sighed as dad pulled his hand away from mine. "I can't wait till your out of here." I say. "Shit, me to fool." He replied and we all laughed. Then he smiled at me again, "feliz cumpleaños mija." I smiled back. "Gracias papá."

Then he looked over at Oscar, "what's up fool." Dad says and Oscar nodded him. "What's up." "You've been taking care of my daughter?" Dad asked and I playfully rolled my eyes while Oscar nodded. "Of course." Oscar replied. "Morenita is always straight." Oscar threw an arm around me, I smiled a little. He was always making sure I'm straight, always safe. Out of harms way. I love him for that. "Good, good." "You guys back together?" I choked a little, "Uhh no." I say "not yet anyway." Oscar says and I looked at him in confusion but then I smiled. "I'm glad." Dad smiled. I raised an eyebrow at him "Really? I thought you hated Oscar and I together." I replied. "I did but I see how much he cares about you and your always so happy with him." Dad grinned and I blushed. "Keep that smile on her face, por favor." Dad says to Oscar, "Of course." Oscar smiled.
