The next day I decided to go shopping to get my mind off of mom. I went to forever 21 and bought some crop tops, shorts, shoes, and so forth. But nothing could get my mind off of mom. She was the only thing i could think about.

If only she was here now.

"Hey." I turn around to see Jc.

"Hey." I repeated, in a sad sigh.

"Come on. Lets go back home." Jc helped with the bags and we we're on the car ride home.

The car ride home was silent. I turned on the radio so it wouldn't be so awkward. The song "Hanging On" by Britt Nicole came on.

"You see my anxious heart

You see what I am feeling

And when I fall apart

You are there to hold me

How great your love for me

Now I see what You're thinking

You say I am beautiful

Your voice is my healing"

I listen to the lyrics very closely, trying my hardest not to let tears fall.

"Without You I just can't get by

So I'm

Hanging on to every word

You speak

'Cause it's all that I need

Hanging on to every word You say

To light up my way

Even every little whisper I'm

Hanging on as if it were my life

I'm hanging on"

That's when turned the radio off as fast as I can. You have to stop thinking about her. I take out my book If I Stay by Gayle Forman that I bought before I got adopted.

I was on page 102. I know its a small book and I should have finished it by now, but I haven't had the time. Mainly because of procrastination.

In the middle of reading, I got a text message from Trevor.

T- Wanna hang out at Starbucks?:)

J- Sure. I'm in the car with Jc right now. I will ask him to drop me off :)

T- k. See ya

J- see ya

I told Jc to drop me off at Starbucks. We pull up in front of the shop.

"I'm gonna go home. I trust you with Trevor." Jc tells me.

"Yeah, yeah. Bye bye." I wave and Jc drives away.

I head inside Starbucks. I see Trevor sitting by himself in the corner. I wonder why he invited me here.

I walk to the seat and sit across from Trevor.

"Hey." He smiled.  I replied with a simple 'Hey' and a smile in return.

A waiter about my age came up to our table.

"Hello you beautiful young lady. What would you like?"

"Cotton candy frappe for me." I ordered. The waiter turned to Trevor.
