I just can't handle it

Roger awoke later that afternoon because of the throbbing pain in both of his arms. He blinked his eyes open tiredly and took in his surroundings. It seemed that he was cuddling with Freddie, whose chest he was currently laying on. An incredible feeling of warmth overcame Roger and he snuggled closer. He hummed quietly, still half asleep. Freddie smelled good, safe even and always like he had just showered. It calmed Roger down. The singer suddenly yawned and looked down at him.

„Good..." he looked at the clock „...wow, afternoon. How are your arms feeling?" he returned his gaze to the drummer and showed that typical smile he was so insecure about.

„Mmh, alright I guess" Roger mumbled into Freddie's chest.

„Well darling, I've got to get going now, I should be working on my new song." He announced and got up.

Roger made an attempt to grab his arm and pull him back, but failed and just stared up at Freddie with big blue eyes.

„Please don't look at me like that, you're going to make me feel guilty for leaving."

All he got for an answer was Roger turning his back on him and muttering something under his breath.

„I'll be back later, Roggie. Just rest and let those arms heal up." With those words he left.

Roger groaned and threw the blanket off of himself. He could still smell Freddie's scent on it and himself. It made him feel slightly better as he stood up and walked into the living room. The first thing he laid his eyes on was Brian, who was already sitting on the couch and shot him a smile as soon as he noticed him.

„Hey Rog, are you feeling okay?"

„Yeah, I'm alright" A sigh escaped his lips as he plopped down next to the guitarist. They were quite close, their legs were touching as well as their shoulders.

„Good, I was worried. You were bleeding a lot." The memory sent a shiver down Brian's spine.

Roger glanced at the spot where he had thought to be bloodstains, but saw nothing except the clean floor. „Huh, who cleaned it up?"

„Deaky." Brian smiled „Without even asking me if I'd do it."

„Well that's Deaky." Deaky was such a kind soul, the one who always resolved the arguments the other three had often, the quiet and shy one. He liked to call himself „just the bass player", but everyone knew he was far more than that. They all loved him more than he knew.

Brian nodded, making his dark curls swing around. „Has something been bothering you lately?"

The drummer sat up straight, „Why would you ask?"

„You've just been acting different and-„

„It's nothing, Bri." His face was emotionless and his voice cold, even though he was dying of nervousness on the inside.

„It's Freddie, isn't it?" He could see Roger blush and direct his eyes at his hands from the corner of his eye.

An uncomfortable silence began to fill the room, which neither of them dared to break in fear of saying something they'd regret later. ‚He knows, he fucking knows.' Roger cried in his mind ‚What if he hates me, what If this tears the band apart?' He held his breath. This was too much. Too much pressure crushing down on him, threatening to suffocate him. Minutes passed, seeming like hours, until Brian laid an arm around Roger and finally spoke, knowing exactly what his friend was thinking, „It's fine, Roger. I accept and support you no matter what. Also I'm pretty sure Fred likes you too." He finished with a little wink.

„You do? Oh my god, oh my g-" The blonde stopped to look at Brian, embarrassed, but he just grinned, happy for his friend.

„But how do we get him to admit it?" The hand around Rogers shoulders wandered to Brian's chin.

A smile snuck onto Rogers lips and he had the feeling with Brian's help this would turn out just fine.
