Chapter 17: Friends

Sasha and Melanie walked off to find Maya. They found her in the Gym playing basketball.

Sasha: Yo Maya!

She looked and started back playing basketball.

Sasha: Look. Melanie and I just want to talk.

Melanie: Yeah

Maya: About?

Sasha:  Our friendship

Maya: I don't think there is a friendship.

Sasha: Just give us a chance.

Maya:(sighs) Come sit on the bleachers.

Maya: What?

Melanie: For one, we want to apologize

Sasha: We didn't make a good impression as good friends 

Melanie: We didn't know your side of the story.

Sasha: We still don't.

Maya: The reason I was mad was because Donte cheated on me with Kayla.

Sasha /Melanie:(gasps)

Maya: Don't be surprised.

Sasha:I.. I...Im sorry. I didn't know.

Maya: I understand that. I really do. But I needed Y'all to be there. Y'all weren't because Y'all thought I was selfish when I COULDN'T explain what was happening.

Sasha:...

Melanie: Can you forgive us?

Maya: I can forgive you Melanie.

Melanie: Great! But what about Sasha?

Maya: Sasha on the other hand I don't know.

Sasha: Why?

Maya: You know Why?(gives her a "you know what Im talking about "look)

Sasha: OH! Maya lo... look I can explain...

Maya: Explain my behind. You had the nerve to apologize about the hospital incident but can't apologize for having sex with my man.

Sasha:...

Maya: I can't believe you. I actually thought you were different from those man stealing girls.

Melanie: What is she talking about Sasha?

Sasha:...

Maya: Ask Donte, Melanie. (Walks off)

  School Parking Lot: Prince P.O.V.

I saw Maya speed walking to the car. I could tell that she was angry.

Me: Babe are you Ok?

Maya: Just take me home.

Me: Tell me what's wrong.

Maya: I said take me home.

Me: Not until you tell me.

Maya: FINE. Ill just walk home.

She got out and slammed the door and started walking.

Me: BABE WAIT!!

Maya:....

I got in my car and pulled up beside her driving slow.

Me: Come on bae. Get in the car.

Maya:....

Me: Girl get your a** in the car.

She looked like she wanted to kill me but she got in the car.

Me: I understand that you're angry.

I looked at the tears coming from her eyes. I pulled over. I cupped her face with my hands and wiped her tears with my thumbs.

Me: Look. Babe. You can tell me what's wrong.

Maya:(crying ) I hate my life. Why would Sasha do this to me? Kayla exposed my secret, Sasha slept with my ex boy friend. My ex cheated on me. Ray lied to me. I can't trust nobody. Nobody. (Cries harder.)

Me: You can trust me.

She turned her head away from me.

Maya: I..I know.

Me: Don't let all that stuff get to you. You're strong. You candle this.

Maya: There's only so much I can take. I think I reached my limit.

Me: I understand that.

Maya:(sighs ) Just take me home.

Me: Ok

I took her home. She was about to get out when I stopped her.

Me: Remember. Call me ANYTIME you need me.

Maya: Ok.

She went inside her house and I pulled off. Today is just not a good day.
