"Jihyun" her mother called out. Her parents arrived at the Min mansion a few minutes ago.

Sitting on the huge couch, Jihyun gripped her dress hearing her name.

Tension was visible in the air as her father spoke, "The results were out a few days ago now tell us your ranking."

"Don't even try to speak if your rank didn't go up or else you're finally in rank 1." Her mother uttered crashing her fragile self esteem more from the harsh words.

I'm doomed. She thought,

Why do they speak like I'm not their child?

Why do they speak like I'm a failure?

Perhaps I am.

Jihyun remained silent as tears started to flow from her eyes.

This action was enough for her parents to know what happened.

Her father sighed, "What rank are you now?"

"F-fourteen" she sobs.

"Oh fcking hell, you even drop from the top 10" her mother commented touching her temples.

"What the hell are you doing all this time? Didn't I tell you to study!" Her mother screamed.

I did mom. I studied all night. I went home straight after school and read my notes. I didn't even ate my meals because I was so focused in studying.

She wanted to speak but the pain in her heart could not even let her open her mouth.

She remained silent.

"Open the t.v. I'm getting tired of this" her father spoke as the maid obliged.

A sudden news appeared, "Kim Namjoon the heir of the Kim Enterprise is ready to take over not just their company but the business industry" the headlines said.

I looked at the screen to see them flashing his achievements in the past few months and a couple of pictures of him in a suit.

"Why can't you be like him?" Her mother spoke.

And that's it.

She reached her limit.

She was already broken from disappointing her parents.

Now they had to compare her,

Not  just to anyone

But to the prodigy boy
that everyone talks about.

That's it.

Enough.

The next thing her parents saw was her shaking body running out of the mansion.

"Jihyun come ba--

"Let her be" her dad said.
