"Let's not talk about this anymore Allesia!" says mom as she places tea and buttered bread in front of me. She sits opposite to me, narrowing her cerulean blue eyes which I always wish I had.

I sigh and nods. If I go on arguing with her about the sports club, she'll end up grounding me for the rest of my life. Well maybe that's unbelievably too much, but that's what she said. And I don't like being grounded for even a day.

"Mom?" I call.

"Yes," she answered in a sharp tone.

"Emily and I thought about applying for the scholarship for college."

"Good," she says, her tone softens whenever it comes to education. She slurps the tea and finally gave me a soft smile.

"I'll make your hair done in a jiffy, so drink your tea fast," she says as she hurriedly walk off to  my room.

She combs my messy ash blond hair and piggy tailed it. "All done. How many minutes did I took?" she asks excitedly.

"Almost ten. Not bad at all," I say showing her a thumbs up. I apply a cherry red lipstick and walk off to school which is only twenty minutes by bus.

Emily gestures me to sit beside her and asks, "How's it? Did she agreed?" I shook my head. "Why? Is it because of the same old accident?" I nod to her assumption.

I exhale heavily. My spinal chord could've have been broken because of that fall I had in eighth grade during the final race. From then on, my mom never let me join in any kind of sports activities held in school or outside.

The school bus stops and we walk out with Emily's hand on my jumper pocket as usual. She adjusted her wavy black hair as soon as Jordan came. They both hug each other and stays like that for about 1 2 3 4 . . . 20 seconds. "Guys, I'm starting to get jelly here," I say and they pull off immediately. I give a light chuckle and gave Jordan a hug.

"Our captain's not feeling well today and wouldn't be able to play," Jordan informs me. He knew how much I like Derek, their soccer club's captain. Even though I knew he has a girlfriend, I would always give myself some time to watch their play. Emily looks dull because she knew how happy I am just by watching him play with the ball even from afar. And it looks like I wouldn't be able to see him today.

Jordan walks towards his section and Emily and I walk to our own. I slept during the whole bio class, and gets a very nice counselling from Miss Hitler for being unable to give an answer on the cell cycle.

Emily sends me a letter just after Miss Hitler left which reads - Derek's coming to watch his crew. Be prepared to go.

I was attentive to all the classes before lunch because of excitement. "Let's go," Emily says and I run off as well.

"Good luck," Emily says to Jordan and peck his lip. "By the way, where's Derek?" she asks. Jordan points towards the cheerleaders and walks away to prepare himself for the match.

Derek, as always stays with Halsey Watson; the principal's daughter and also the beauty queen of the school. With her bright blue eyes, plumpy lips and brown curly hair, there's no way Derek would look at other girls. Why? Because she is every girls dream.

I don't hold any grudge against her though. Halsey's kind, cheerful and a role model to each and everyone of us. She didn't do any harm to me and there's no reason to hate her. Its just that I am jealous because of what she has, especially Derek.

Emily gestures me to sit and then the game begins a few minutes later. Jordan's team leads the game and Emily screams louder and louder with every goal they shot. Seeing Derek and Halsey together makes my eyes sore and tired. Its like I'll vomit any soon. "I'm not feeling well Emily. I must go to the class to sleep," I said. Emily looks very worried and nods understanding my condition.

I walk towards the cheerleaders for the exit but unfortunately, a ball hits my head and the last thing I see is Derek with a worried look.
