"It's dehydration," stated Dr. Vienna. I took a day off to rest a bit which was very long, it was like 48 hours. I never like school, but staying at home without books and WiFi was the worst that could happen in my life.
Today, I thought about talking to dad about joining the sport's club. My dad works in Paris as a mechanic in a company and rarely comes home. And I started to think that my mom's like this, cranky and over protective because she misses him so much and tries her best to stay strong and raise me well. It happens to Jordan's uncle too and now we call him Uncle Kraken. Sounds awful but he would always respond whenever we call him!
"My Flash! How are you?" cries dad. He would always call me Flash and I love it. We talk about various stuffs like my summer camp last month, his trip to India and many more. He said that he'll support me to join the sport's club and he wouldn't mind to keep it as a little secret from mom. "As long as she doesn't ask, we'll just say 'You never ask!' and that'll be the end of our conversation," he said glibly.
"Thanks dad. I need to enter the class now. Love you, bye!" I turn off my phone and walk towards my seat.
Emily came over and sits right in front of me. She looks excited. "You're going to love this," she exclaims with excitement overload.
"Well then blurt it out already!" I said.
She places a photo of a handsome guy in front of me. His hazel eyes and dirty blond hair with a stylish cut, is so well combined. "Who is he?" I ask.
"Getting interested?"
"No. My interest is only for the track and Derek. Hey, even the words matched. Track, Derek, track, Derek!"
Emily rolled her eyes and walks away while I keep on chanting the rhythm again and again. But yes this guy is handsome. He has this charm like Derek by even seeing him you'll be attracted like a magnet.
Derek though have this beautiful blue eyes and a sun kissed skin and a mascular lean body appearing from time to time when he plays with the ball as much as he wants.
After the end of class, I walk to the staff room to meet Mr. George Presley, the track and field coach. He stares at the form, examining it with full concentration. "Do you have your guardian's consent?" he asks and looks at me.
I nod and give him my dad's consent message. He signs the paper and welcomes me. "Thank you Mr. Presley," I exclaim with joy and walk out from the office.
As I enter my class to take my bag, a guy from the photo sits behind my desk. He stares at his photo and I just realise that I kept it under my desk. Oh crap!
I crawled on the floor as silent as I can to grab my bag while he concentrated on his photo. Well that was my plan that failed miserably.
"What are you doing?" he asks. His voice cold but relaxed. I stand up and grab my bag quickly so that I can escape from any questions that could burst out any moment from him.
Phew! That was so close. My phone rings with Emily's name popping out. "I'm at Jordan's house. He asked me for dinner and I'm sorry for being unable to go home with you."
"It's okay. Have a nice night," I chuckled knowing what her intentions were. "How nice it would be if Derek asks me out," I wished to myself.
"Too bad he has a girlfriend."
I froze. It's that guy. I cover my face though that wouldn't help much. He gets on the bus and I just stand here embarrassed waiting for another bus to come before I heard him ask, "Is this the last bus for today?" and the driver's reply 'yes'.
I step into the bus standing as far as possible so as to avoid any glances of or from him in this small spaced area. I wish that the bus could turn into a train so that I can leave as soon as possible but then the bus stalled. Could this day get any worse?! It was a tyre puncture. It would be a fortune if I still have some money left to take a taxi and run away from this awkward time to time glances.
He walks out from the bus and takes a cab. I'm glad that I need not have to wait the bus with him. I almost died out of embarrassment.
My mom prepared dinner when I reach home. It would be a disaster if she knew about me joining the sport's club. I love running, it's a part of my life. I am 'born to run' and I can say that because it's the only good thing I can do right- to run. But the other reason is for Derek to recognize me. I want to be popular like Halsey Watson and the current track star Sarah Jones who is in our section.
This is the biggest decision I have ever made without her knowledge and I'm scared that I might ruin it because when I do something without her consent I always get in trouble. I could be a little superstitious sometimes.

"Get up. You're going to be late!" my mom cried. I look at my phone and stood up right from my bed because it's almost 9. I dress up as quickly as I can, brush my teeth and walk out with my bag. I take a taxi and luckily I reach school with five minutes past nine.
As always the students run about in a hurry to their class and so was I. But I was knocked by someone and my papers were flying about. I picked it up and when right in front of me stood a guy who was actually bending trying to help me pick up, I looked up only to hit his chin and made him fall.
Derek!!
