We were stranded in desert-like conditions with a car full of supplies. There were only medical supplies though, not any food or water.

The world around us seemed like a ghost town, old western houses, no residents besides the people that might be under the sand I was now kneeling on.

I never knew Josh, not personally at least. He seemed like a pretty nice guy and I always watched him from afar, I guess I kinda had a crush on him. But why did he kill himself? What was going through his mind?

Everything seemed much more open up to me. I started laughing, happy to be alive.
But at the same time, I was crying, for the loss of a person I didn't even know.

Scarlet was still clinging on to me, but it seemed more of a cuddle. It shouldn't seem like a bonding moment, and it wasn't the type of circumstances.

But then a noise came from one of the houses. A loud, ear-piercing screech echoed in the ghost town, and it seemed angry.

Me and Scarlet stared at each other, in horror. We carefully got up and and moved to lock all the car doors, then we saw it.  A half dead person with bluish-gray skin, missing skin and holes that you could see right through to the other side of it.

We froze, hoping that if we didn't move, it wouldn't see us. But it did, it did see us.

We rushed and locked all the doors and sat on the car floor, so nothing could see us. Hopefully.

There was another ear piercing screech followed by more, like a pack of wolves, endless howling, endless loudness.
