Ribs and Spells pt. 1

Jacqueline sat quietly as the small Zora wrapped her ribs. She was still surprised that she convinced the women to let her come back to her home in Hateno village. Only allowing it to happen if she came with her.

"By Hylia" Mionie whisper, "I don't understand why you must provoke that Lynel, then try to escape by throwing  yourself off shatter-back point"

Jacqueline groaned in reply, jumping slightly as her clawed finger grazed her stomach, causing a ticklish feeling to arise.

"Oh don't groan, champion." she grinned, sharp teeth sparkling, "You're irked because I was right!"

Her head tail wagged with her joy, her hands retreating as she finished wrapping. Making sure they're not too tight. She raised from the chair she moved beside the bed, pulling it by the desk. The yellowish-gold being walked down the small stairs down, clawed feet clicking on the wood.

Mionie was slightly true, okay maybe a lot, it was a stupid idea to go and fight the Lynel with a low supply. And then running off and trying to dive off part of a mountain that has killed some of the strongest zora. She turned her head to the window, the zora had woken her up later than usually would. The sun had risen slightly above the clouds, leaving it a calm blue.

With the sound of clinking downstairs, she finally pulled herself from her cot. She stumbled over to her drawers pulling out a simple warm shirt, the color of cool Safflina. She looked over the loft, the golden Zora was cutting up a fish of some sort. The smaller girl stared confusingly at the other.

The Zora cut the fish with her left hand, she was sure the Zora was right-handed. Though her memory was foggy of before the calamity, she was sure the Zora used her right hand to write and duel other children. Now that she thought about it her wrappings covered her entire right arm. She was probably making a mountain out of an anthill.

She hobbled down the stairs, careful of the blanket tied up under the stairwell, Jacqueline didn't want the princess to sleep outside in the pond by her home. Knowing the town children and adults alike would come and stick their noses in unwanted places. She also deemed it unsanitary, unlike the princess. Who had boldly claimed all the lakes and oceans are also unsanitary, Jacqueline still forced her to live in the house. It made her feel somehow safer in her head, she wouldn't have to worry about her not being there to protect the princess. And that the princess could protect her if someone did break in.

They managed to make a bed that could keep her still wet and comfortable. It was able to fit the Zora to, her head wasn't pressed against the headboard, and her feet weren't hanging off. And in such short notice, it was a blessing.

Thank Hylia for giving Bolson his amazing carpenter skills.

Touching the Zora, so she got her attention she asked, "you make what?"

"Ah, I'm not well-informed of Hylian meals, but I know many Zora ones. It will be seared Hearty Salmon and rice." She turned back to cutting and preparing the fish, "You didn't have any vegetables, I will not allow you to lose need nutrition. We will go into town later today, so I may obtain some."

The Hylian nodded,  wobbling to the door, she rapped on it. The Zora turned around tilting her head,  Curious. Jacqueline pointed to the door, opening it and stepping out still looking at Mionie.

"Ah, alright so time outside shall do you well," she turned back tail wagging behind her," I shall come to fetch you when the meal is done."

Nodding as she stepped, she took a deep breath of fresh air. She opens her eyes, looking at the sky once more. It was nice to stay in one place for a while, but sometimes it got a little stifling.  Jacqueline could never stay in one place for long, a sense of adventure always flooded her veins. She walked a bit down the path at the base of the bridge, boots clicking on the wood.

The tree at the base the path had a  large pond with something akin to the old tale of "The Sword in the Stone" the prince once read to her. She went ahead and sat at the base of the large tree. Resisting the urge to climb in the branches to sit on and look at the beautiful view, she pulled out her tablet.

She tapped through the many pictures the prince had taken, hoping they may be could jog her memory. Auntie, it still felt weird calling her that, said looking at them could help her remember. That traveling artist also helped her in locating areas the pictures were taken in. She could somewhat recall what the memories were, but it was still hard. Only when she found the location she could remember them clearly as if it happened at that moment.

Hylia, that shrine had truly taken apart of her mind.

The more time she took scrolling through them and staring for what felt like hours, but most likely mere minutes. Made her tired the more she thought  about it, she placed the tablet on her lap. She sighed as she looked at the sky through the tree tops, exhaustion settling deeper into her bones.

You'd think sleeping for a hundred years would have you fully rested, but it only made her tired. With that in mind she closed her eyes, lulling into a calming sleep.

Jacqueline woke up to a shadow leaning over her, something glinting within it. The thing that woke her becoming clearer as the shadow jerked back in shock. She chanced a look towards the yelling of her name. She saw Mionie running down the steep hill, she took the chance of distraction to kick the shadow back.

They stumbled back disappearing  with a cloud of red and orange, pushing herself up she pushed her self back against the tree. She had no weapons, not even branches that fell from the tree she sat at. Just as the shadow, no, now identified to be a Yiga  member reformed Mionie appeared in front of her. Large form covering her, she had let out a quite continues snarl. She held her Trident strongly in her hands, poised to defend the champion.

The Yiga member seemed to stumble at the appearance of the smallest Zora. Running forward, lunging at the zora, the Yiga clan were truly one of the stupidest group, the Yiga had found cold metal digging into their stomach. Mionie moved quicker than the Yiga, had rammed the Trident into its stomach before sending in into the ground. It reappeared before the Zora could spear it into the ground, charging at it in blind movement Mionie found herself choking.

Coughing at the powder thrown at her face, it filled her mouth and gills. She sputtered before dropping the spear, stumbling backwards.  Jacqueline moved before she could be crushed between the tree and Zora. Instinct taking over she picked up the trident, quickly finishing off the yiga member. Turning back to the princess she looked around confusedly, not finding her.

The splash of water caused her to turn, the pond of course. She rushed over, looking at the murky water. She found herself looking at nothing like a Zora ever should.

A woman sat crouched in the water coughing up a gross color of brown and pink. Pale skin and long gold-rose tinted hair fell down the shoulder, dancing along the murky waters top. A purple stash was the only thing covering her, she stared down at her hand, the other stiff at her side. The women turned her hand coming to pull the fabric to her chest. Jacqueline's eyes met with familiar sharp green eyes, pupils  predator sharp.

"Champion?"

She sucked in a sharp breath.

"Why am I a Hylian?"

oh, hylia
