[Madison's outfit is in the sidebar]
I arrived at the airport in Florida on Tuesday, a day before the competition planned. I checked into my hotel and decided to soak everything in. I was one of the 120 lucky people who got to go to boot camp. This was utterly amazing. I use that word a lot. Amazing.
I heard a knock on my door that jolted me out of my thoughts. I opened the door and saw Camila smiling. We both ended up hanging out that evening. I really liked Camila, I really hoped that we both got through to the next round.
I got ready the next morning. I knew I had to be on point today because if I didn't, I might not be able to follow my dream. I got to the stadium and got sorted into Group 4. I psyched myself thinking that meant we probably weren't getting in. That Group 1 is the best or something. The whole day went pretty well. They had all of us standing in a line, calling our names.
"Out of this group, six of you are going to make it to the next round of this competition." Simon began, "First person through to the judges homes is .. CeCe Frey" My heart twitched a little bit. There are still five more spots.
"The person through to the judges homes is .... Madison St. Clair." I froze in place. Was this really hapenning? This was really happening. I thanked the judges and ran out into the hallway. I was greeted by a camera crew, asking how I felt.
"I feel great. This is the most amazing opportunity in the world." They began to ask me more questions but I cut them off. "I have to wait for my friend Camila. I know she is going to get through." I waved them goodbye I waited adjacent to the door. I waited and saw three more people come out and I got extremely nervous.
Finally, one last person came through the door. And it wasn't Camila. My heart broke into peices. They told us we had to leave but I told them I wouldn't go. I ran back into the room and saw Camila crying and ran up to hug her. We were both crying. I knew that I would have to leave her behind and keep going, but she was the only friend I had made so far, and I thought she was a much better singer than me.
We broke our hugs and she wished me good luck, and to stay in contact. I walked out and was ushered to another building, fighting back more tears. We were lead into a room with all the other contestants, but I just kind of sulked in the corner. They then made an annoucement that some more people were being put through and we were about to congratulate them. My face quickly brightened, hoping they let Camila through.
We went out onto the lawn and I saw some boys come out first, but no Camila. Then at the very I saw Camila and I ran to hug her. We were both in tears again, but this time for a different reason.
"They finally realized your talent and let you through I see." We both laughed.
"Well Kind of. They put me in a group with those girls." She said pointing them out. I felt a little bit jealous. I had always wanted to be apart of a girl group, but I was happy for her.
We all went back to the room we had come from and introduced ourselves and shook hands. I made a lot of new friends and I knew this competition was going to be amazing.
