[Madison's outfit and audition is in the sidebar!]

I woke up this morning, right before my alarm clock. Good luck, I thought to myself as I layed and stared at the ceiling. Three minutes later my alarm clock rang and I rolled over to shut it off. I pushed back the covers as I walked to the bathroom to get in the shower.

This is the day. The day I have been preparing for. I thought. Mrs. Emily my vocal coach thinks I'm ready, but I'm not really sure. Today is my audition for the X Factor. I have been waiting for a while to audition, but I was never ready for it. But I guess I am ready now.

"Madison, are you ready sweety?" I heard my mom  knock on my bedroom door. I looked down and realized I had already gotten dressed. I guess I was just so consumed in my thought.... "Coming." I said, without moving. Did I really want to do this? What if they didn't like me? I shook my bad thoughts away as I gathered my things.

"Honey, you know we love you. And no matter what happens today, you are the best singer we have ever heard." My mom said, hugging me. My parents couldn't come and they had to work. It shouldn't matter, I am 18, I need to start doing things on my own.

We had to drive quite a long way, almost 7 hours to get to the audition. I try and find a close parking spot, but since I was so late, I had to park 2 miles away. As I walked up the venue my heart sank a little bit. I looked around and saw how many people were there auditioning. All those people who were potentially hurting my chances of getting through.

I waited in the line to check in and finally got my number 109109. I laughed bit to myself. Two numbers in a row that has to be good luck right? I filled out the paper work and headed to the biggest line I had ever seen. The line moved fairly slowly, but I finally made it inside. I saw all the other contestants and I got quite scared. I looked over and saw a few girls, about my age, with their parents. They were giving her a pep talk. I got a bit jealous, but I decided I needed to get my game face on. It would soon be my time to shine.

I found another girl who looked about my age warming up. I went over and talked with her a little bit, she seemed really nice. We exchanged numbers and we both wished each other good luck. About a minute later I was taken backstage and told I was going on next. I smiled but inside I was shaking.

Next thing I know I was given a microphone and directed towards the stage. I strut out on stage with big smile, couldn't show my nerves. I took it all in, the lights, the crowd, it kind of felt amazing.

"Welcome, hello." Simon said.

"Hello! How are you guys?" I said, before he could say anything else.

"We're good." Britney said with a smile.

"What's your name sweetie?" Demi asked, taking a sip of her water.

"Madison." Demi's head shot up and she smiled a bit.

"Hi Madison, what are you going to sing for us today?"

"Chandelier by Sia, but the piano version."

"Can I ask you something. Have you practiced?" L.A. asked quizzically.

"Yes I have." I replied with a confident smile.

"Go for it." Simon said, waving his hand.

As soon as I heard that first piano note struck, I knew I had this. I sang my heart, and I didn't even look at the judges. I performed as if I was just singing in front of Mrs. Emily for one of our weekly sessions.

All I remember is getting four yes's and walking off the stage giggling. I ran to find Camila and then I figured out we both got four yes's. We decided to go out and get dinner together. I met Camila's parents and they all seemed very awesome. I got really excited had to head home to tell my parents the good news.

I got home and told my parents, and they seemed very proud and excited. I packed up my bags and and headed to Florida. I was off my on a journey.
