Emily wakes, and abruptly sits up. There's an unpleasant fetidness lingering in her nose, and fear begins to possess her. A cold sweat trickles down her body, and her eyes frantically bounce around the area looking for Skiter.
She quickly realizes that she's on a bed in the center of a large plain-looking room. There aren't any paintings or pictures on the walls. The colors present a dull atmosphere, utilizing a mixture of grays and whites. Emily feels as if she wont be leaving anytime soon. The only solace is a round brown table next to a lonely window in the corner with two chairs. She sighs with relief, It was just a dream. She thinks to herself when she realizes Skiter is nowhere to be seen. There's no way something that hideous exists. Emily convulses a little as she unwillingly recalls the stench that emanated from Skiter's body.
"Damn. That dream was so real. I can still smell the freak." Emily gets out of the bed, and sees she's in a lovely white night gown. "Hmm, definitely not my style." She doesn't even notice that her injuries have been dressed, and walks over to the window to gaze at the freedom lurking beyond it.
As she reaches for the drapes she hears, "Finally awake I see."
Emily turns to see a lovely woman with thick, loose silver hair walking through a door next to the bed. She sports several braids that extend down to her waist. There are two points jutting from beneath her hair where her ears would be. One matches her skin color, a lovely dark plum color, whereas the other has a gold-tipped covering with a moon flower embossed on it. Her body is dressed in form fitted armor with a rapier strapped to her waist, and g green cape is draped over her arm.
"Shit!" Blurts Emily, before she covers her mouth. Guess it wasn't a dream.
The woman walks in, and moves towards the table. She's beyond alluring, almost mystical in appearance, and walks with such grace that there's no weight to her steps.
Emily backs away trying keep some distance, but there isn't much room. She traces along the wall until she's next to the bed.
The woman eyeballs Emily with indifferent crimson eyes. "I can understand that you're scared, but there's no need to be. I just want to talk." The woman says pulling out one of the chairs.
As soon as she sits down a man walks in. He, too, is dressed in full armor, and has a green cape on, but with a red stripe on it. He has shoulder length hair that's pushed back revealing a pair of sapphire colored eyes. He walks over to the woman, and stands behind her slightly off to the side.
"Wh...?" Emily quietly stammers.
"My name is Feray, I'm the captain of the Green Horns, and this man here is Taren my lieutenant. You're currently in one of my spare bedrooms." Feray says over Emily.
Emily doesn't respond. She just looks at them blankly.
"I'm sorry, I assumed you were about to ask us who we are, and where you are. I figured I would get the formalities over with. Now, who are you?" Feray inquires.
"I'm Emily. I'm sorry, but I don't really know what's going on. How did I get here? I remember being attacked by Skiter, but I assumed that was a dream."
"I assure you it wasn't a dream." Responds Feray. "You were attacked. We arrived just in time to help you."
"You saved me?" Emily asks rhetorically. Her gaze quickly bounces between the two. "Any chance I can get an explanation about what happened? Everything is kind of fuzzy."
"No surprise there." Feray chuckles. "You have been asleep for two days."
"What?" Asks Emily. "How is that possible?"
