Secret-Stalker
Hello, El
She is busy sketching in her book, ignoring the buzz of her phone as it sits in her lap. The classroom is full of people talking - or shouting - and cracking jokes that were too lame to be laughed on. Well, lame for her anyway. She didn't consider calling their antics anything but 'lame' as it would make her envious of them, which she forbade herself to feel. But maybe it wasn't lame, considering the loud laughter which rang through the busy room...
It's been almost twelve hours. Are you still mad at me?
The vibration of her phone distracts her from that line of thought and she is genuinely thankful for it. She didn't need those unwanted emotions to plague her mind, didn't need the memories to resurface. She was doing good, she just had to continue with her sketch and make it through the day somehow. In less than four hours she would be a free bird.
Alright, I take it back
Another buzz quickly snaps El out of her reverie. Mentally evaluating who could've texted her during school hours, she is a little surprised to see the sender being the most recent addition to her Hit List. For a second, El wonders who it could it be; the person's name and their age. Heck, El didn't even know if the person on the other end was a boy or a girl! She was crazy for talking to a complete stranger this way, but she was also not bothered enough to care. This person - whoever it was - would soon leave her, anyway. That's what everyone did.
Stopping herself from thinking theories related to the mystery person, El decides she'll probe him or her about their identity in the future. She takes a glimpse at the notifications and, against her better judgement, quickly drops the stationery in her hand to respond.
Take what back?
You're not cute
El raises an eyebrow at this, not knowing how to react. Before she can come up with a sassy reply, another message pops up. A breath leaves her and the brown-eyed girl can't decide whether she should be shocked, irritated or flattered. She rolls her eyes and sets the phone down, continuing her sketch and not letting herself believe a word of the lie that shines through her phone's screen.
You're absolutely adorable.
