I know these things do exist but what's with the overuse of insecurities and suicidal characters in fanfictions? It seems like a bit much.
And going into insecurities, why is it that most characters doubt themselves so much? Why is it that when their love interest is being plainly obvious they're still not sure if they feel the same? I get some people are oblivious but this is truly overused!
And why do so many of these personas feel they don't deserve to be loved by the one who loves them, that they're not good enough? This idea of self disrespect and emotional instability seems to be an odd fascination within the Wattpad Community, at least in the fanfiction section.
If these recurring themes are a reflection of either the authors or our society then I'm truly concerned.
