Music was playing through my headphones, I was content with my day but stressed for tomorrow. My hands gripped my science book while I walked to room H2 to be greeted by Mia, my chemistry partner. "Hey y/n" "Hey Mia", I placed my book on my desk waiting for the lecture to begin.

The classroom was never quite, but today it seemed as if my mind was numbed I heard no voices, I did not respond to the calling of my name, nor did I focus on the work being passed out. Instead I averted my mind to the thoughts flowing through my head, as each second passed a new idea sprouted in my brain.

Mia pulled the headphones from my ears bringing me back to reality "What's up with you?" I took my time answering still lost in thought, "Nothing much I just wanna get this class over with" I say while sitting back in my chair.

As time passes I continue to look at the clock watching the seconds go by. After about five minutes I can feel a tap at my side, "y/n" I turn my head "What now?" Mia handed me a piece of binder paper that had my name on it. I studied the handwriting unsure of whether it was a males or females. Next I opened the note and found a simple sentence.

Usually when writing a note to someone it's customary to leave your name, and sometimes your number. But there was no name or number just a simple instruction Meet me in the band room during lunch.

Within the next thirty minutes class was over and lunch had finally begun. I was still unsure about the note I had received but I decided to follow its directions. The band room was like my second home, I've been in band since 6th grade and the band teacher, Mr. Tulga, was like a father to me.

Once I entered the room I was greeted by sounds of beating drums and strumming basses, no doubt these kids new how to play their instruments. Everything was in tune, granted the tempo was rather fast but it was still pretty good for some dweebs.

"Hello?" I tried to project my voice so it could be heard over the drums, a boy with long hair who seemed to be familiar looked me up and down turned to face the offices in the back and yelled "Jake your girlfriends here!".

My cheeks began to heat to a vibrant pink, a boy about two inches taller than me walked out of the office. I recognized him immediately as Jake Kiszka, the boy who had held me close during the power outage last week.

A red electric guitar was held in his arms, a strap wrapped across his torso. He glanced over at the long haired boy and shot him the scariest glare I've ever seen, after a few seconds of intimidation he said "Uh hey Y/n, how are you?" realizing that he was talking to me I responded with "I'm a little confused to be honest".

I looked at the ground to avoid any eye contact with him, Jake walked towards the kids playing the instruments and begun to introduce them, "This is my brother Sammy" he pointed to the boy with the long hair who was holding a bass, "This is Danny, he's Sams friend" he motioned towards the dark haired boy who was also holding a bass, "And this is my brother Josh" Jake then pointed to the boy who had two drum sticks gripped tightly in his hands as he began to hit different sized drums, the room got louder and louder.

I recognised all three of the boys, Sam's cool, Josh is pretty nice, and I don't really have that much to say about Danny the only thing that I know about him is that he had this massive crush on my sister.

I can feel Jakes eyes on me, "Do you wanna sit down?" he says, I simply nod. He gets up from his seat and walks towards the office and motions for me to follow him.

Jake pushes open a metal door and allows me to step inside. He then grabbed two wooden stools, one for me and one for him, "Sorry about the mysterious note, now that I think about it it was kinda dumb" I blushed "I didn't think it was dumb, it was actually very intriguing". Jake began looking at his hands while one inched closer and closer towards mine, soon enough our fingers were interlocked with each other's.

Suddenly the door swung open, I could see a sweat covered Sammy emerge from behind it. "Uh Jake we could use some help, Josh is pissed" "I'm kind of in the middle of something can't it wait" Sammy shook his head out of breath, through the door we could hear Josh "How the hell do you think you're in charge here!?! If I say we're going to play at allegro then you better goddamn listen to me!"Jake walked out of the room. I reached into my bag and grabbed my cellphone.

Within thirty seconds Jake was back, he had an embarrassed look on his face, "Sometimes I think they would be lost without me" I smiled "I'm sure they would be" as I said this Jake glanced up at me. "So why'd you write me that note anyway?" I tried to keep things casual, "I just wanted to see you again" Jake said with a smile growing on his face.

Jake moves closer to me, inching his lips towards mine until contact was made. Not knowing what to do with my hands I simply kept them in my lap and let Jake take the lead. He positioned his left hand on my lower back while his right hand moved the hair from my face.

I separated from his touch for only a second to look into his gorgeous brown eyes, then once the moment had passed I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed Jake again. About five minutes later my shirt was fully unbuttoned, Jakes chest was completely bare which made everything worse since Josh walked in just in time to see Jakes hands slip up my blouse. "Really y/n, you could do so much better" Josh stated. Ring ring lunch was over, I started to put myself together when Jake asked "Do you think I could get your number?"...
