"Do y'all want to play some StormBlayde?" Carter asks. Regardless of how much I despised Carter and Noah, my love for StormBlayde was greater. StormBlayde is the best video game of all time, and even better when you play it with Noah and Carter. Despite his awesome planning at real life ambushes, this is the only game Noah sucks at, because there isn't any pattern to it. Carter tries desperately to win but always falls short compared to me, StormBlayde KING! So yeah, playing with them pretty much guarantees me a spot in first, because they suck.

StormBlayde is a strategy game, kind of like capture the flag. The goal is to invade the enemies base, capture 10 hidden gems, and get back to your side. Any diamonds you steal from the other side gets added to your total. Then the other team has to get their jewels back, plus your original ten. The catch is, at any time, someone from the other team can hit you with their weapon—everyone gets to choose between a sword or knife, or an assortment of guns— and you get "killed" and get taken to the other team's prison. The game ends when everyone on a team is in the other teams jail. Your team can communicate with headsets. On a different frequency you can talk to anybody in the StormBlayde game. Just like in capture the flag, you can save the people in the jail. But you have to give up one of your teams jewels in order to get them back. Of course, to make it even harder, you aren't guaranteed a safe trip back. It's very possible that you can get caught on the way, and then both of you have to go to jail. So then your team loses two players and a diamond. That's where the strategy come in. Is this player worth the risk? Can we afford to give a diamond away? Noah never tries to save a player. He's all, "No, we need to get the diamonds, we can't give them away."

Carter, on the other hand, runs around with no goals, unless someone tells him to do something. Once you give him a task, he's awesome. He's great at stealth attacks, awesome at getting people back from jail, and also super amazing at stealing diamonds undetected.

Noah hops up from his bed and flies onto the L-shaped couch like a birdy. He takes his spot on the edge of the couch, closest to the wall. Carter grabs the three controllers and the three headsets and resumes his place in the middle. I walk to the couch and sit in my section, legs extended along the short side of the L. Carter whips my controller at me, and it bounces off of my face. Ow. I pick it up from beside me and stare intensely at the television.

Let's do this.
