Nightingale- Soundwave x reader

[[A/N Last chapter got way too cluttered. there was soooo much I wanted to put in. at some point I myself got confused by all the things.  Some of the cut out stuff I might use for something else *cough*knockoutxreaderoneshot *cough* *cough*. I hope its more readable like this, if its not please give me tips so I can improve/re-edit the chapters and make it less of a clusterfuck. also someone tell me how to write Starscream because i'm terrible???]]

It takes a couple of days and a shopping trip with Knockout to get everything Y/n needs.

"Hey knockout wanna go shopping with me?"

"I believe you're not supposed to leave the Nemesis."

"Naw I'm sure it's fine as long as I have someone with me. I'll comm Soundwave."

go to hardware store for tools n cables, crap like boomboxes, lights, microphone, voice changing software, keybord, playstation controllers etc.

"Stay in sight. I don't need you trying to escape."

"No worries, unless Sounds kicks me out I'm not going anywhere."

huh not the answer Knockout expected.
Y/n sticks close like he asked. Also not the behavior he expected.

"Why aren't you trying to escape? The Nemesis isn't exactly human friendly."

"You guys are cool. Soundwave treats me right. And with my armor I've got a lot of options. I can't wait to officially start working!"

"hmph don't think I'll go easy, I will work you hard."

"Damn that sounded suggestive, keep that for Breakdown will you."

"I can't help everything I say sounds hot." He flips his bright red hair.

"Can I get a blaster on it?"

"Absolutely not!" Knockout states indignantly. "You're lucky I'm allowing the grappling hook."

"We already had this argument and Sounders green-lit it. I need the hook. You don't want to have to pick me up for everything."

"Then you admit you don't need highly fatal weaponry strapped to your little fleshy body."

Y/n sighs dreamily "No. But it would be really fucking awesome.. Maybe one day."

Breakdown chimes in, poking his helm through the door. "Perhaps when we can trust you won't sabotage the ship. Or blow a hole in the hull by accident."

"I won't but fair enough."

Y/n tests all the things separately before putting them together and retesting them. Everything is a learning experience. Knockout helps a lot.

"Hey Knockout? I was thinking I need a cover story. Or is it normal for mini drones to suddenly pop up?"

"Good point."

Y/n kinda feels like she is in attack on titan with all the giants around.

She practices non stop with the hook getting around in Sounders room so it will look natural. Y/n swings every which way with Lazerbeak acting as her safety net.

When Soundwave is there and Y/n practices he worries his fragile pet falls and break something in a million different ways, before she catches herself with the hook in midair and he vents in relief. He doesn't approve of all the stunts it (she?) does.
