Chapter Seventeen.

Breathing.

I opened my eyes shutting them just as fast with the light blinding me. I heard faint chattering in the background. I couldn't exactly make it out.

I opened my eyes slowly again, the light wasn't as blinding this time but it was blurry everywhere. My vision cleared eventually and all I saw was white and all this other stuff. Yep, I was in the hospital.

My head was throbbing and I felt a hand, gently grasping mines, causing me to freeze in place. I slowly turned my head to that person.

"Zack?" I whispered in shock, with my eyes opening wider.

His eyes slowly fluttered opened and widened as well when he saw me.

"I-Izzy?" He said in a barely audio voice. "I'm so glad you're okay!" He hugged me and I winced. Quickly, he pulled away, his eyes blinking a lot. He's eyes looked...glossy?

"S-sorry". He got up.

"Zack?" He turned around. "Where are you going?" I frowned. I didn't want him to leave.

"I'm guessing you don't want to see me Izzy" he sighed. Nearing the door.

"Zack, come here" I said sternly. He carefully looked at me and sat back down in the chair that he was in. Looking everywhere but me.

"Zack, look at me" he slowly picked his head up glancing at me. Good enough.

"Now, why do you think that?" I asked, my face softening. He quickly put his head back down.

"Well...uh, because of what Brian said of cour-" I cut him off.

"Zack, Really? Don't believe a damn thing that Brian has told you, you hear me? I can't believe you actually believed in what he said." Zack's head sat up, his eyes lightening up a bit.

"Zack" I took in a breath. "I-I love you. I've always had, and never stopped. I don't understand why you really believed what Brian said" I put on a small smile with my eyes tearing up slightly.

"You really mean it?"

"Of course, you silly!"

He uneasily, but gently grabbed my shoulders, I smiled up at him and nodded. Then he softly touched my lips with his, and backed away. Smiling down at me with now happy eyes. I continued to smile up at him. Things can maybe finally go back to normal for a change..

Just after that loving moment, Val walked in. Her eyes widening slightly, with a smile slowly spreading across her face. Something was behind that smile though, something sad.

"Isabel!" She yelled running up next to me, as I heard footsteps coming near from outside the door.

"You're awake finally!" She smiled hugging me.

"Val. In. Pain."

She quickly pulled away saying a quick 'sorry', just as I noticed everyone was now here. Staring at me, looking remorseful.

"Why does everyone look so gloomy? Did, did something happen?" I suddenly asked someone; no one in-particular. Now, remembering I was in a hospital.

"Well you passed out due to, too much stress being put on you" she took a quick glare to Brian. "And the baby and all, well you know.." Val continued explaining with a frown. My breathing caught throat, with my eyes widening slightly.

"Is...is the baby okay? Please tell me, yes" I asked worriedly putting a gentle hand in my stomach. I knew something didn't feel right the moment I woke up.

"Well...Isabel."
