I hastily packed up my stuff, and ran out. I have a mission. I start going towards where the gang meets are. Everyone in high school know where they meet. We've stumbled upon them accidentally, at least once. Some got worse punishment than others.
It was a warm summer, and Aidan and I had gotten ice cream from Dairy Queen. We were laughing over something that happened over school, and he got to his car. He had to go, his mom wanted him. I said bye, and he drove away. I sighed, and started walking to where I left my car. I decided to take a short cut down an alley way. I saw the dark maroon jackets, and I saw their heaters (guns). I tried to turn around, but they grabbed me by my parka hood.
I was pulled back. There were no girls, as I could see. "whoa, there princess! where are you goin'?" one of the boys said. "don't call me that." I sneered through my teeth. The boys laughed. I fought away from the boy who held my parka, "How about we go for a spin?" He revealed a motorcycle. "I'm good." I spat. Another boy grabbed my waist, "Nah, she wants to come with me..." He looked me up and down. I snarled, "Back off."
They laughed again, "A fighter!" I heard one say. I looked at them. They were attractive in an edgy way. I counted. There was six of them. I pulled my pepper spray, forgetting I had it. I didn't want to spray anybody. "If you let me go, I won't spray." I growled. One of the tanner boys gave me a wink and smile, then let me through. I think they followed me to my car, but I never looked.
I snap back to reality. I go to the alley and see the familiar maroon jackets. They saw me. "Ahh," The tan one said, "I know you. Pretty eyes, good body."
His smile caught my eye. Slightly beautiful... I shook my head slightly. I got real close to who I thought was the leader, "Who killed him?" I sneer.
The boys laugh, "That wasn't us... That was the Crips."
The blue.
"You swear on your lives?" I say. They all nod. "But you're here now..." The tan one says.
They all have something in mind. I know what it is. They aren't ready for what I'm about to say. So, I won't say it now.
"Where are the Crips?" I ask, avoiding the statement they had said. The tan boy smiles, again, "We can show you... Later."
"No, show me NOW!"
They all glare at me. Nobody yells at them. "Now, sweets, that was uncalled for."
"Then tell me, or you'll get it."
"Oooo. What are you going to do?" The whiter one says. I pull out a knife, and hold it to his throat. "FUCKING TELL ME!"
His breathing goes hard. I feel his heart beating fast. Someone holds a gun to my head. "Now," I say, "Tell me."
"You know the alley where horses used to be?"
I nod.
"There."
I remove the knife from his neck. He looks scared. I put the knife in my pocket, again.
"Why do you need to know so bad?" The tan one says.
"They killed my best friend, so they are going to pay."
"What's your name sweets?"
I look at him...
"Jessica."
He winks, like last time, "Ezra." I give him a tight smile, then I start running.
---
I look at the gun I took from the white boy. When I was holding him, I took it.
I don't regret it.
I start walking, again. I decide to grab some food, so I walk into McDonald's.
I go inside and I order my food. I quickly pay, and walk to a booth, with a TV in front of it. I look up at it.
"Missing Girl: Green Eyes, Black Hair, Calls To The Name 'Jessica' Or 'Jess'."
I stand up, feeling dizzy. A few people look at me, then the TV.
Some gasp. I run, grab my food, and sprint out. I go in the general direction of the alley, but am steering clear of large streets, or neighborhoods.
"Who put that there?" I mumble to myself, "My parents don't care...."
I shake it off and finish the rest of my food, and chuck the trash.
I see the alley. The blue hooded jackets. I growl.
They aren't facing me. There is nobody around, but them, and me.
No houses. No cars. Nothing.
No one around to hear a gunshot.
I aim the gun at one of their heads.
I turn of safety.
And I pull the trigger.
