I wake up with the sun in my eyes. I should be at school, but, I'm still in bed. My parents neglected me, so they don't care. They only care about my perfect sisters and perfect brother.
But that's okay.
I get up and pick up my phone.
Aidan: Where are you?
He's like an older brother to me.
Jess: I'm fine, just slept in.
I start humming as I walk into the bathroom, and brush through my dark black hair. I stare into my green eyes.
Confidence is non-existent in my mind. The only thing I like is my eyes. Green.
My bangs get in the way of my eyes a lot, but I, try and brush them to the side, but they always go back down.
I don't know where I got my green eyes from. I think my mom cheated on my dad. But it's none of my business.
My nose is small, and my eyes are a pretty normal shape. I have long eyelashes, which is lucky.
My hair is straight, and my skin is not white, but not Mexican. It's a nice tan, but not too dark.
I push up my glasses. Big black ones. I like them.
I'm not nerdy, I just can't see.
I pick up my bag and walk out the door. My car is a small, grey car. I start driving, drowning out the world with music.
Before I know it, I'm at school, and I get out of my car. I've missed first period.
I see Aidan, and I run up to him. "Hey," I say.
He smiles, "Hey! Missed you!"
I smile at that. He's, like, my only friend. We walk to second together, and everything is mostly a blur.
Except when I'm with him.

after school
---I wait for his car. He's bringing us taco's like he always does.
I take out my headphones, getting anxious.
He's late.
I close my eyes for a few seconds, and I hear gunshots. I pray it's my imagination.
