i walked to school in a hurry, trying to find the boy i was looking for. after minutes of wandering around, i finally spot him from far away, his back facing me.

in a medium quick pace, i walk closer to him and call out, "jihoon?"

he turned around slowly, giving me a charming smile. immediately, i shift my focus from his smile to the board he held in his hands. the board said it big letters, "I'm sorry for always ditching you recently, but it's only because I was nervous to ask this. Will YUBI my prom date?"

i pursed my lips, trying to control my smile.

i slowly nodded, giving him the answer to his question. he dropped the board and quickly wrapped his arms around me. there, i could feel his heart beat. was i just hearing things, or was it beating faster than usual?

this time, i chose not to hold my smile. this time, i was smiling like an idiot.

i joked and asked him, "why is your heart beating so fast? are you like okay or something?"

he placed his head nearer to my ear and said, "don't tell anyone my secret. you wanna know why it's beating so fast? it's because it's beating for you."
