Day 12 is the saddest anime scene. I have this scene in my mind, but I want to preface this with a spoiler alert for Elfen Lied!

So SPOILER ALERT

In Elfen Lied, Lucy has a flashback to when she was a child. She was very lonely and had virtually no friends. But she did befriend one animal; a small brown puppy. A young schoolgirl who Lucy considered her friend saw her with the puppy, but swore to keep it a secret. But this all goes downhill when Lucy is found out because the girl tells Lucy's bullies about the puppy. They decide to mock and verbally attack Lucy, before restraining her and beating her puppy to death with a flower pot. This broke my heart and I will never forget this scene. After the puppy dies, Lucy brutally kills everyone in the room, including the girl, but it didn't soften the blow of the heartbreak Lucy felt.

I have a soft spot for animals and those who are bullied, so this scene always broke my heart. I wish I could have helped Lucy, because she reminds me a lot of myself. At least she got her revenge.
