I toss to the side of my bed, my legs tangled in a mess that was my sheets. My eyes open slowly and I rub them softly to try and get rid of the morning fog. I raise my arms above my head and stretch out my body, letting an inhuman sound escape my throat. Once I finished I took a look at my surroundings and realized that I was still in Mattapoisett, the sun gleaming through the windows to my right. I slide out of bed and land my feet onto the soft carpet, padding my way to that wall. As soon as I opened the left window, I inhaled the scent that came from outside, the salty smell of the sand and ocean that was right below me.

The sound of the waves was enough to get me ready for the day, bringing me towards my closet and picking out an adorable pink and white bikini as well as classic jean shorts and a black tank top. Satisfied, I change into the clothing and pick up my phone from my nightstand. It was 10:43am. I scrolled through my contacts until I reached: Josefina. I clicked her name and pressed on the call square, my phone automatically dialing.

"CARLIEEEE-" I hear Josefina yell through the phone, stretching out the e loud enough to make me retreat my phone from my ear. Having it to my side, I still hear the continuous e and about 5 seconds later it went quiet.

"Are you done?" I couldn't contain my laughter as I could practically hear her nod. Both of my friends were crazy, as was I, but I didn't show it as much until I was actually with them. "What time should I be at the beach by?" I question while grabbing my black sandals from the floor and sitting on the side on the bed to slip them onto my feet.

"Be there by 11, and by the way, Paige says that her supposedly new found love was going to be there so just know that there might be some flirting action going on." She tells me and laughs before saying goodbye and leaving me to get my things ready.

I open up my purse and check to see if my wallet, lip gloss, and my other necessities were there. Check. Slinging the straps over my shoulder, I walk into the bathroom and take the hairbrush that was on my counter-top and stroke it through my hair. I didn't find the need to put on any makeup since it was going to wash off in the water either way.

Finishing, I stride out and down the stairs, grabbing a banana on the way. I stepped foot onto the road, the small rocks crackling underneath. I make my way onto the sidewalk and continue walking the path. I enjoyed walking here, it was peaceful and the complete opposite of Luniere. As I peel my banana I take notice of the seagulls flying over my head. I've always wondered what it was like to feel free. To not worry about everything. To just glide through the air, letting your wings be in control. I take a bite out of the fruit, savoring the taste.

From my beach house to the public beach, it was a 15 minute walk at most and i've already conquered 10 minutes of it. Cars drive past, some neighbors honking and waving at me.

Another 5 minutes later, I was at my destination. I skimmed the beach, looking for any signs of Paige and Josefina. I take off my sandals, holding them in my hand as I walk through the sand, passing some people here and there. Next thing I knew, I was hit on the head and on the ground. Placing my hand on my head in pain, I hear footsteps running closer to me.

"Oh my God! I'm so sorry, are you okay?" The deep accented voice questions worriedly. I feel myself being brought up to my feet with the help of, I'm guessing, the kind gentleman. Gaining consciousness, I open my eyes to see a man, his towering height looking down at me. He looked around my age, but clearly older. His long brown hair was pulled into a bun, exposing his face. That wasn't the only thing exposed, though, his chest was bare, complimented by many tattoos. "That was my fault. My mates and I were playing volleyball and I accidentally diverted the ball into what I think was your head." He laughs nervously, showing that he was truly sorry.
