Barry's POV

The same crazy nightmare was what it took to jolt me out of my deep sleep. I startled on my single bed, gasping for air.  I slided on it's side, wondering about the fact that every single day of these 10 years which I have spent on this isolated land, this one dream persistently is responsible for my sudden awakenings.

I wiped off the beads of sweat from my forehead and mustered some energy to stand up. I glided over to my window to see my two best friends sitting on the edge of the island, gazing at the sky as the sun was rising over the horizon. Both Iris and Eddie were my only friends on the island, whom I have known for 9 years. I got out from my cabin and walked over to them.

There was silence. It is immensely awkward to walk on couples during their romances, which by the way, basically means to hold hands, eye contact (which may stretch for half an hour straight when left un-disturbed)  and regular kissing! I coughed and cleared my throat, breaking the silence and announcing my presence.

When I was able to hold onto their attention, I raised an eyebrow for Iris was continously looking at me.
"What!? Oh come on Barry! You always do that!" She grumbled. "Well, I do! It's really awkward." I complained. Iris just rolled her eyes and fixated them on the sky again. I joined her and Eddie.

"You know what Barr, you should actually ask Patty Spivot out. Both of you have completed your training years and wl be moving to Central City. Besides, I heard that she is really interested in you. Obviously, who wouldn't be!" Iris said. Eddie stared at her for a moment. Realizing the reason for Eddie's reaction, Iris winked saying "No babe! I don't do seniors!" I replied "I find it ridiculous, and well as you say it - 'I am a heartless Killing Machine!" "Yeah right!" Both of them said jointly.

We sat there for a while talking. We heard the bell go, summoning all the trainees. "I am gonna miss you Allen" Iris said, as her eyes welled with tears. She tried to give me a hug but I stepped back. "I don't do hugs!" I said as we walked to the assembly.

As we gathered around the wooden stage. Mr. Thawne stepped up to address the gathering. "Today we bid our goodbyes to the people who have been with us for years. Allen!" He called out. I stepped up, as he put a hand on my shoulder and whispered, what everyone has been dying to hear from him. "I am proud of you, my boy! This decades champion, Barry Allen! He bellowed as the atmosphere was filled with applauses and hoots. The ceremony ended with a farewell party.

I checked into the Homeland Hotel. The FBI had already done the formalities. I was still a bit overwhelmed as I was led into my suite. I shut the door, as I took all the events of the day in. Finally I was out of the island. Finally I will avenge my parents murder. I was still analysing the day when the ground rumbled. I walked over to the window, as I saw the skies part and hundred of Dominators jumping out of their spaceships.
