Y/N's P.o.V.

After dinner, I spent a good majority of the night with mom. We were doing girl stuff. Y'know, watching sitcoms, painting each other's nails, stuff like that. I wasn't normally one for painted nails or sitcoms, but mom had black nail polish, and the sitcoms were cheesy romcoms.

After a night of laughing, I look at the clock on my phone and see it was almost midnight. I fake a yawn. "Well mom, I'm gonna go to bed," I tell mom. She frowns but says "Okay. Goodnight, Y/N." I hug her goodnight and walk upstairs to my room.

I lay in bed for 30 minutes before getting up. I grab my fluffy blanket and crack open the door, to see if mom was still up. The TV was still on so I assumed she was still up. But normally she didn't come in my room when I tell her I'm going to bed.

So, I open the window and slid down the drain pipe. I hadn't done this in a while, because I had always been able to go out through the backdoor, so it wasn't all that easy to slid down the pipe. I hop over the fence and start walking to the forest.

I get to the spot that Toby and I always met at. He was there. He was sitting on the ground and looking boredly up at the sky. "Hey," I say, sitting next to him. "Oh, hey." He mutters. "Sorry I got here so late. Me and my mom were watching sitcoms."

He laughs slightly. "Were they cheesy?" He asks, looking at me. "The cheesiest," I say, laughing. I rest my arms on my knees, resting my head on the palm of my hands. He notices the paint on my nails. "You painted your nails?" He asked.

I couldn't see, but by his tone, he probably had raised an eyebrow. "Oh, yeah," I say, moving one of my hands and looking at the shiny black paint on my nails. "My mom did them. The only other colors she had were bright neon colors."

"It would have been fun seeing you with neon orange nails," Toby says with a slight laugh. "Bold of you to assume she had orange," I reply. He shrugged. "Most of the time when people have neon things they're orange, green, pink." He says.

"Eh, true." I laugh. The night continues as usual. I had stayed up the entire time, toby and I making jokes and telling short and funny stories of different things we've experienced.

Once the sun started rising, I decided to start heading home. I hope mom wasn't awake by now. There were times she would wake up earlier than me, and I prayed this wasn't one of those times.

I get home and find mom still asleep in her bed. I exhale a sigh of relief as I silently close her bedroom door. I walk into my own room and fall asleep not too much later.

Monday

I had been laying down in my bed for a full 5 minutes before I looked at the time and saw I had to get ready for school. I sigh and get changed, walking downstairs to see mom already awake, and typing away at her laptop.

"Morning mom," I say, faking a tired voice. "Morning dear." She replies. She looks up from her laptop and smiles. "There's some bacon on the stove. It's still relatively warm. But hurry up, the bus should be here in a few minutes."

"Okay, mom," I say with a smile and walk into the kitchen. There were three pieces of bacon left in the pan. I take them out and munch on them and walk back into the living room. "So, what are you writing?" I ask.

"Oh, I'm writing a murderer story." She replied, smiling. "Oooh! How's it coming along?" I ask. "Really well!" I finish my pieces of bacon and tell mom goodbye, then walk outside to see the bus just pulling through.

I get on the bus and find an empty seat. Once I get to school I hurry to my locker and get my books. As I walk to my first class I accidentally run into someone, and I end up dropping my books.

"Oh, sorry," I mutter. "It's fine." a high voice replied. I look up and see a girl. Bright green eyes and honey brown hair. She had long hair but it was pulled back into a ponytail with a white ribbon.

She smiled at me and held out her hand. "I'm Monika." She said. "Nice to meet you," I reply, shaking her hand. "I'm Y/N." I bend down to pick up my books. She just stares at me with a smile on her face.

"Um, I gotta get to class," I tell her. "Oh, which class?" She asks. I tell her. "Oh! That's my first class too!" She says happily. The two of us walk to our first class and she takes a seat next to me.

She starts talking to me but I didn't know what she was saying. I was too busy focusing on something else.

Lunchtime rolled around eventually, and I made my way over to F/N's table after getting my food. Monika appears out of nowhere in front of me, the same smile on her face from when she had run into me at the beginning of the day.

"Wanna come sit with me?" She asks. "Oh, sorry, uh, I was going to go sit at one of my friends' table," I tell her. "But you're welcome to come and sit with us." She frowns. "I don't like being around too many people."

"Oh." "Either way, I've seen you around recently and you spend every lunch with them! Surely it wouldn't be a problem if you sat with me  just this ooooonce!" She says.

I hesitate before sighing and saying "Fine." I glance over at F/N's table and hope they don't mind it too much. Monika squeals happily and takes my hand, dragging me to an empty table.

A/N~~

Holy shit, a chapter that's longer than 800 words? That's crazy! Don't get too used to this though. Seriously. Cuz there's no way I'll be able to make every single chapter more than 1000 words. But! I have a chapter I'm planning on making really long.

But you'll just have to wait until that chapter comes out ;3

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter, and I hope you have a good day/night!
