chicago, illinois.

"mom, i just got out of school, i'll go to the grocery store. just— be patient. i love you, bye" i hang up and open the door the uber i called to come and pick me up. i smile and wave to the uber driver a bit.

"hi, are you," he looks at the gps to find my name. "billie.. eelish?" that's definitely not my name. what kinda name is billie eelish?

"oh, no sir, that's not—" i hear a voice interrupt me. "i think she has the wrong uber. i'm billie. and it's eilish, sir." I turn around to see a short, blue eyed girl with grey hair and baggy clothes. She's with one other taller, older man.

i back up from the car. "i'm sorry, i didn't mean to—"

"yo, it's totally fine. everyone's done that before, don't stress about it." she smiles as she talks. she has a very pretty smile. i keep the door to the passenger seat open so one of them can get in. the tall, skinny man got into the passenger seat. he said thank you with a small smile, then closed it.

the girl, i now know is billie, opens the door to the backseat. "have a nice day." she says. i smile at her comment. "thank you, you too." she closes the door. i walk to the bench not too far from where i was standing and put my backpack beside me. i look at my phone to find the uber. here it says but, i don't see it anywhere.

i call my mom and tell her i'm gonna be home later because of the uber. i'll catch a bus mom. she sighs. baby, you know i don't like you going on the city bus.

i'll be fine momma i promise i chuckle and roll my eyes. be careful cameron, i love you.

i love you too momma. hanging up, i sigh and put my backpack back on my shoulders. i hate the city bus as well. fucking hate it. but it's the only way to get to the store and home now.

i look back to where the uber was. surprisingly, it's still there. i look away and get up to walk towards the bus stop a block away. as soon as i start walking away though, i hear a familiar voice. "hey!" it's billie. i keep walking thinking she might be talking to someone else.

"girl in the green!"

i stop walking and look down at my clothes. i'm wearing green. all green. green shirt, green shorts, and even a green hat. i turn around, looking if other people had green on. no one. she's talking to me. i make eye contact with her, and she smiles. i soon start smiling. her smile sure is contagious.

i walk closer to the uber. "yo, what's up?"

"what's your situation with the.. transportation?" i walk closer. "well, my uber is saying it's here, when i can see it anywhere, i'm trying to go to the grocery store, so now i gotta take one of those shit holes." she looks over to where i'm pointing out at the street, which is a city bus passing by. "that actually might be the one i'm s'posed to catch. so i gotta go. see ya—"

"yo, just come with us. i'll have him bring you there." my eyes widen. "for real? i don't wanna bother you or nothin'." she rolls her eyes playfully and holds the door open as she slides over. "well shit man,"  i smile at her and hold the door as i get in. i close the door and take my backpack off once again, placing it inbetween my legs.

"thank you..."

shit. what's her name?

"billie." she smiles. "yea, thank you billie." i smile back. "it's nothing, don't worry about it."  she turns her attention to the uber driver and tells him to go to the nearest grocery store to drop me off. she takes out a $10 and gives it to him. he nods, and she thanks him.

he starts to drive to the nearest grocery store which i know for a fact is about 15 minutes away from here.

billie looks at me up and down, and smiles a bit. "i love your fit bro, it's dope." i look at her and smile. "thank you, i love yours too, where'd you get it—" i cut myself off when i see the logo 'louis vuitton' placed all over her shirt. and her pants, but air-force 1s with gucci pattern all over it. "oh shit." she smirks. "answered your own question, huh?" i nod.

"shut your mouth man." she chuckles, i didn't realized my jaw was dropped until she pointed it out. i flush. i'm embarrassed.

"so, what's your name?" she asks, changing the topic. "i'm cameron."

"that's a dope name, cameron." she smiles. "thanks billie." there's suddenly awkward silence between us. to distract myself, i put one of my earbuds in, and left one out incase she wanted to talk to me again. i decide to listen to music and put on 40 Shades of Coke by ari lennox. i decide to skip, not being that interested in the song anymore. the next song that came on was called bitches broken hearts by billie eilis-

that's her.

apparently billie saw what i was listening to because she decided to joke around. "i've never heard that song before, looks stupid." i looks at her and she smirks.

"so that's why you got designer on," i laugh. "fuck, that's really you?"

"fuck, it is."

"crazy man, it's so good."

"thank you," her cheeks turns a light shade of pink.

"we're here!" the uber driver says. me and billie had a great conversation. and i kinda didn't wanna leave. "well, it was nice meeting you billie. i had a great time. and thank you," i smiles, and she smiles back. i open the door and grab my backpack. "bye, have fun running errands!" she waves jokingly. "fuck you." i laugh. "if you're gonna do that, please hit it from the back." she winks at me, i blush then giggle and roll my eyes. "in your dreams," i step out of the car and say goodbye. before i close the door she says, see you around. i close the door and walk to target right by where the uber driver stopped.

billie. billie eilish. now that i think of it, that's a familiar name.
