Chapter 5: Midnight Stroll

Jack's P.O.V.

Silence, it was all I heard besides the gusts of wind and tree leaves rustling in the night as I walked down the moon lit pavement. 

You maybe wondering why I am walking while it is so dark out but it is all simply because I couldn't find myself to be asleep anymore after the nap I took earlier. 

As I was just about to walk down Wood Ave., I found myself dead in my tracks, staring at a woman past out in the middle of the road. I walked up to the unconscious woman and knelt down beside her. She had a suitcase with her. I flipped her onto her back to get a better look at her. Once she was flipped over,  I realized it was the girl I watched earlier. She looked sickly pale. I didn't to call an ambulance this late at night so I just scooped her up in my arm and with the other, I dragged her suitcase. 

Once I got to my front door, I set her suitcase aside so I could open the door only to be attacked by Skye. I grabbed a hold of Gabbie's suitcase once more and dragged it through the door. I placed Gabbie down on my couch and set her suitcase next to the hallway entrance.

I closed my door and sighed. 'What will she do once she wakes up? Will she try to kill me? Will she call the cops on me?' So many thoughts on what could happen to me once Gabbie wakes up flowed though my head like a river. Once I calmed myself down a little, I grabbed a pillow and blanket from my from my room. 

I carefully lifted up Gabbie's head in order not to wake her and placed it behind her head. I then placed the blanket on top of her skinny body. I then turned off the light in the room and headed upstairs to my room. I got changed into my pajama wear and then slipped under my covers. I turned off my broadside lamp and finally found myself drifting into slumber.
