Chelsea Gray
I woke up to the annoying sound of Marimba playing on my phone. It was quite the annoying tune but it was the only ringtone that got me up and awake.
I started getting ready moaning and groaning in frustration remembering the long day ahead of me.
I changed into the outfit I had laid out on my dresser the night before and started curling my hair. I only applied eyeliner and mascara seeing as I was too lazy to put the rest of the makeup on.
"Morning doll." Was what I heard as soon as I stepped into the kitchen. I saw my dad drinking his coffee while reading something on his device.
"Morning." I said going to the cup drawer and taking a mug out to prepare my coffee.
"I been meaning to talk to you about something." He said taking off his reading glasses to look at me.
"Okay, about what?" I said sitting down across him setting down my coffee and bagel.
"Well since the move, we do not have as much money as we did before," he started. I stayed silent encouraging him to keep going.
"I saw a coffee shop down the road from where I work with in need of more employees and since I know you make some pretty good coffee, I thought you'd give it a try? If no-" I cut him off.
"I'll go in after school to check it out." I said standing up to put my mug in the sink.
"Thank you, I know it's not much but it's just a little help so you at least have some earnings for yourself." He said.
"Yeah I know, I thought you were kicking me out or something." I said.
"I'd never do that." He responded turning his attention back to his device. I got my keys and backpack and left for school.
---------------
I got there right after the bell rang so I just headed straight towards my locker and left my backpack in there and took out all my notebooks and headed to class.
When I got there I noticed this time Styles was there. I looked around seeing if there was a free seat where I could sit.
"Hey Chelsea over here." I heard a girl call me. I looked up and saw Danielle waving at me to go over there with her.
I headed over to her but I could feel the stares from Styles burning through the back of me as I walked.
"I saved you a spot, sit down love." Danielle said tapping the spot next to her. I looked at her right and saw Liam. I waved at him to make him stop staring. It made me uncomfortable.
As I looked around the room I caught a glimpse of Styles whose stare was still on me. Was I supposed to feel flattered or? So I just lifted my left eyebrow as if telling him "what are you looking at?" All it caused was for him to smirk and around facing the front of the board.
Not long after, the professor arrived and started the boring old lesson.
-----------------
After the last bell rang, I rushed to my locker and was about to leave when Dani, El, and Perrie came up to me.
"Hey guys." I greeted. With my keys on my hand and my backpack on my shoulder, I was hoping they'd get the memo, because I certainly couldn't stay here one more minute.
"Hi. We were wondering if you'd like to hang out with us tonight, seeing as we'd like for you to be part of our group." Perrie said.
"Yeah, we don't bite." El said. I'm pretty sure you don't, but you should see your boyfriends I thought. I always caught one of them staring especially that Styles guy.
I hate being new.
"Yeah sure." I responded. Might as well make some friends seeing as right now I got no friends.
"Good, give us your number in that way we could communicate with you." Dani said. As soon as we traded numbers, I got in my car and rode to the coffee shop.
-------------
I opened the door to the coffee shop and the smell of coffee engulfed me. I walked up to the cashier where there was a what looked like a 20 year old girl.
"Um, I'm here for a job interview?" I said trying to act confident but to be honest it was probably the quietest I've ever spoken. The cashier girl just rolled her eyes and called out a certain guy named Derek as I stood there awkwardly.
Soon a very handsome guy came in and took me to the back where we came across an office where the manager was. I suddenly got nervous, so I took deep breaths and apparently I must have sounded like a cow because the Derek hottie looked at me weirdly with a crooked smile. Woo, way to go Chelsea!
-------------
As I came out of the office I took a huge sigh of relief, it wasn't as bad as I thought after all. As I was finally leaving the coffee shop something caught my eye more like someone.
In the back, I saw Styles with a pencil in hand and what looked like a diary opened in the table in font of him.
I stared without realizing. I must have stared too long since he turned around and gave me a look before I tried to walk out of the coffee shop as fast as possible to get away from his stare.
There was something about him that my insides churn in a way,
a good kind of way...
