Chapter 5 - Age 10

Lucy’s P.O.V.

I can now say my life was official hectic! Not only was I married to Nathan James Sykes, member of The Wanted who still did gigs, but Jasmine was now ten and growing up way too fast and Mason turned two today.

The first time Jazz had seen Mason she’d fell in love with him, she loved having a little baby brother around to cuddle and Nathan, well he loved the fact he had a son. They were so close already, there was no doubt he would always be a daddy’s little boy.

Jay and Mollie’s son Jake had started nursery a few days ago along with Mason, we had decided to put them in together so they would at least recognise one other face, I knew it meant double the trouble but they were so cute they could get away with it! Jake had Jay’s piercing blue eyes and curly brown locks; he was the splitting image of his dad (minus the few features he took from Mollie!). Siva and Nareesha also had a bundle of joy, Tasmin, she was also so cute, no doubt she would turn heads when she was older with parents as beautiful as Siva and Nareesha (and yes I did just call Siva beautiful!)

It seemed like a lot of the band members now had children or were expecting – Max and Shellie had announced a few months ago that she was pregnant, the only couple yet to have a baby were Tom and Kelsey who were crazy in love, they bought out the kid in each other but I knew when the time finally came for them to settle down they would make great parents.

“Mason put the lemon back in the bowl, not the lemon Mase” Nathan said, he’d put Mason on the kitchen table to put his shoes on and Mason had picked up a lemon from the fruit-bowl and began playing with it. It was funny to watch because whenever it came down to lemons Nathan always got protective over them.

“Jake” Mason said, I nodded and got Jazz’s cereal out of the cupboard, Mase was about to go to nursery and Jasmine was going to school. Nathan, the rest of the boys and girls were all helping me get ready for Mason’s surprize party when he got back from nursery. Nath was going to collect him and take him to the park while all his nursery friends arrived, it was going to amazing. Sounded weird I know but I was looking forward to it.

“We’ve got to go in ten minutes so hurry up and eat your breakfast then brush your teeth” I said to Jasmine, she nodded while I ran upstairs to finish getting ready, it seemed I never got to spend as much time as I used to getting ready myself, not that I minded that much.

After Nath and I dropped Jazz and Mason off at school and nursery we went straight to the supermarket (Tesco to be specific) to pick up some last minute necessities such as cake mix, balloons, plastic cups and plates and a mixture of foods. Jay and Mollie were in charge of the games, Max and Michelle were bringing the drinks, Siva and Nareesha were bringing the presents as they had wrapped everyone’s and Tom and Kelsey had ordered some sort of entertainment, I was praying it would be suitable for children aged two plus.

“What do we need to do first?” Nathan asked when we had got back home and unpacked, I looked at everything laid out on the table and pouted before picking out the cake mix. “This should be fun” Nathan muttered his hopeless cooking skills still hadn’t got any better, if anything I think they may have even got any worse.

I switched the oven on to the temperature shown on the box as Nathan got all the packets out and began to snip all the edges off to open them, he grabbed a bowl and walked back to me. “Can you pass me the chocolate flour?” he said and I nodded, an evil plan unwinding in my head.

“Yeah sure” I picked up the packet and when he wasn’t looking got a handful and flicked it at his face when he turned back in my direction, he coughed as it when in his mouth and shook his head like a dog, one moment a flick of anger crossed him the next he turned playful and smirked looking at the icing sugar packet.
