Chapter 1 – Age 2
Lucy’s P.O.V.
It’s weird to think that Jasmine was now two. Everyday I look at her and love her even more, I remember the first time I changed her nappy, the first time I fed her, the first time she took her first step and her first word, the first time she laughed. It was all magical and stuck to my mind so I knew I wouldn’t forget it.
Nathan’s been a dream; he’s taken to being a dad so well. At first I thought he might have gone into shock that we actually had a daughter, but he looked at her with adoring eyes and I knew he would protect her. She was already a ‘daddy’s little girl’ always wanting his attention and hugs, it funny to just sit back and watch them until they see that I’ve been staring then I get attacked!
Being a parent also has a downside, the only one being that you constantly worry. I worried the first time I left her with Nathan (though I did trust him), the first time she went to playgroup, the first time I left her with the other boys and their partners because Nathan wanted to take me out for a date. Most of the time my worries have been silly, although one time at playgroup she fell of a slide and hit her head, the day care nurse took her to the hospital to get her checked out and I turned up worried, heart beating- legs shaking, to find her laughing, sat on a hospital bed playing with the nurses stethoscope.
Nathan, Jasmine, Jay, Mollie, Tom, Max, Siva and I were all at a park in London, we had decided to go out since they were going away in a couple of days to do some shows. We had all come to spend time with Jasmine although she was sat on my knee while Nathan and Siva were on the swings, Jay was going down the slide and Max and Tom were on a see-saw, so much for being grown-ups! Jazz – as we called her sometimes – was laughing sweetly watching, she loved the other boys as much as she loved Nathan, I think it was because they were like kids themselves, and they loved her too, treating with presents and toys all the time.
She bounced on my lap watching until she pointed at Jay going down the slide; I lifted her off my lap and held her tiny hands as we slowly walked over towards him. He was about to climb up again when he saw us; running over he lifted Jazz up and swung her around, before climbing to the top of the slide. I waited at the bottom, before they went down the others saw and came over cheering her on.
Sure enough five minutes later she had gone down the slide with everyone, she loved the attention and I would love it too! Jay had made Nathan and I go down he slide together and took a picture of us as Nathan’s arms wrapped round my waist and I sat in-between his legs, I was pretty sure the world would be seeing it on Jay’s twitter feed if it wasn’t up already!
Mollie, Nareesha, Michelle and Kelsey weren’t here at the minute, but there was a very important reason why. Just over two months ago Jay had got down on one knee and asked Mollie that all too important question. It sounded really romantic from what she had told me; Jay took her to a fancy restaurant and when they ordered desert they bought out a tray with a silver lid, when she lifted the top off ‘Will you marry me Mollie? I love you’ was written out in skittles and Jay was on one knee with a ring. Of course she had said yes, they were a perfect couple, I couldn’t imagine them being with anyone different.
Mollie had asked me to be a maid of honour at the wedding and Nareesha, Kelsey, Michelle and even Jasmine to be bridesmaids. I’d gone with her a few days ago to get mine and Jazz’s dresses, they were both full length – obviously Jasmine’s was tiny – but they were both a baby blue colour and looked really nice, the others had gone to get fitted for theirs today so that’s where they were.
Just like Nathan at our wedding, Jay didn’t want to pick one best man so ended up having four instead, apparently he’d also asked his twin brother too so no doubt there will be five on the day, not very traditional I know, but when’s Jay traditional?!
